Looking for good/show quaility Male yorkie I am looking for possibly show potential male with full registration in or around Indiana. I found one in Kentucky, that I am considering. He's 6 months old and "shouldn't" get more than 3lbs. She's asking $3000 for him. That is really not in my price range. I'm wondering if I'm going to find one for any less or am I just going to have to suck it up and pay the price?? Any help is much appriciated:) |

If it's from a Tyava, Rothby, Durrer, Parside or another reputable well known breeder/exhibitor, expect to pay that or more. |
If you're planning on showing him, 3 pounds would be a bit difficult to finish. |
I have thought about showing, I'm still researching it though. I'm still not sure how to get started. I've been told to go to shows and check them out but I can't seem to find when and where the shows are. lol I looked on YTCA to find some and the ones I seen are either going on right now (litterly today), already passed, or they're too far away. Is there a website with up comming shows? |

Think about this.....Your top dogs for 2006. Ch. Tyava's Sure Shot (Chandler) Ch. Marysark's Smooth As Silk (Smooth)..... Ch Grovshire's Fast and Furious (Fury) Are not small boys. They are about in the 6 pound range. There are very, very reputable exhibitor breeders out there, but they aren't going to readily turn lose their stock to just anyone. This has been discussed on several threads as to why. |
Are you looking to show the dog, or use him for breeding purposes? That may make a difference in the show breeders that would be willing to do business with you. Many may not want their lines being bred without being shown...or many may not want their show quality dogs to 'miss their chance' and only be used for breeding purposes. Good luck. |
The prefered weight for a Yorkie in the show ring is 7 pounds or a little under, but the tiny's usually don't do well. |
1 Attachment(s) What do you think about this guy? He's 9 months old. I know you really can't tell much from pictures, just wanting your input. I trust you girls and your knowlege. |
Show quality or not I think I'm going to grab up this little one! I just think he's breath taking!:D |

And if this is the same 3 pound lil guy you were talking about....as was mentioned, small usually don't do well in the ring. |
