I dont do liver bile test automatically on my puppies. It can get really expensive. But it is a good test to do or ask for it, if its important to you and the breeder is willing to do it. I certainly would do one if I had a puppy with symptoms though. Its really good to be informed and well educated as a buyer of the breed you chose. Peanut, you sure are a good example of that, even after you had a bad experience, you just state the facts and why you do what you do. | |

Donating YT 14K Club Member | I do not understand the questions about testing and size. The tests alone would cost you around (if not more) than his asking price. The price is fit for a pet puppy and is more than reasonable...but buyer beware. If you want a pup that has had all of the testing done, you're going to have to pay for it. OP is asking what they paid for him...nothing more. Most dogs on petfinder cost more than this guy. I hope that you get him rehomed quickly before he attaches himself to you.

| We are both really getting used to each other, I would really LOVE to keep him but, I am having to remember my gut feeling after my husband bought him for me. Maybe in a few years I will be ready to have a Yorkie, because this breed of dogs is the one I have been hooked on for a long time! Thanks to everyone who has commented on how cute he is. Have a good night! |

| I am very close to having him a home. I am just waiting on a few of the first people to tell me they were interested so I can be fair to everyone. |

| Thanks everyone for the replies on normal tests done. I love my vet, and she seems to me to be VERY thorough, and she did physically check Cooper and Carley over very well, but she didn't say anything about these tests on their first visits to her. She did recommend blood tests before Cooper's neuter, she said it is helpful to have results to compare to later on in Cooper's life, even if everything was normal...just to have baselines to compare later. I hope the OP finds a wonderful home for her little one, too bad she can't keep him, but I think it is good she is thinking what is best for him now...these little guys do take lots of time, I always tell people who say that they want yorkies that it is like having toddlers in the house I can see where they wouldn't be great for some people at certain times of their lives, but they sure are perfect for me Again, thanks everyone for their replies to my question.

| I live in San Diego, too. I'd love the little guy, but I think shipping a 10-week old Yorkie cross-country is too much for him. You should find him a home that is much closer to you. I wish I was. |

| I got Mac for 150.00 and I had his test done after the fact...most breeders don't do the bile acid test and it really is up to the breeder, but I personally paid more to have this done... My whole reasoning behind this is for my own benefit, after getting one with liver shunt and having him almost 4 years and then they die from it, well to be honest with you it just about broke my heart....
