Well said. I normally try and stay away from such posts. There is always more to the story and better not to assume.

| First all I'm not a puppie mill I have 5 yorkie I raise them in my home. The reason the one got his legs bit off was he was from a kennel where the breeder lets the mom have her puppies by her self. I on the other hand when my dog have puppies I'm right there I take each puppie out of the bag and cut every cord my self. The reason I'm sell this dog is not because she is old or she can't have puppies but because she fights with the other dogs and I have to keep a muzzel on her all the time. which is not fair to her but I can have her hurting the other dogs. I'm not asking 500 for her I'm ask 400. That not that high. You all are so quick to judge when in fact you have no idea of the hole store. I'm not a big time dog breeder I love my dogs very much. I lost my mother 11yrs ago and my dogs are what have keep me going. I raise all my dogs in the house they sleep in my bed at night with me and my husband. So before you start pointing you finger at me and saying that I'm a bad person. get the hole story please. I don't but my dogs in kennal at night or when I go out. I have a dog door where come and go as they please. |

| I don't know why you sent me a PM as you said the same thing in the thread, but that's fine. I'm sorry, but the posts you have had to sell dogs just leads me to think you may be breeding just to be breeding and for the sale of puppies. To each his own, but I just feel this is why there are so many little Yorkies that wind up in rescue shelters. The aggressive nature of your female shows temperament was probably not considered in her breeding. There is a reason why reputable breeders sell on a spay or neuter contract. I believe breeding should be done only to try and improve the breed and produce a puppy as close to the standard as possible. It takes a lot of study and research. I also believe when you buy a puppy, it should be to give it a "forever" home. I understand there are circumstances where someone might have to give up their baby, but not because it only "throws small puppies". It should be neutered and loved. Everyone has an opinion, and this just happens to be mine.

| THE PROBLEM HERE IS IN YOUR LAST POST. I'm not a big dog breeder, which really sends up big red flags to me. You are someone who bought a few dogs to breed and make some money And that says it all!! You are not experienced in breeding, and you are not experienced in owning either. THOSE POOR DOGS, !!!!! Please leave the breeding to professionals who have done the research, and have spent the hours over selecting good breeding stock. For the future of the Yorkie breed. Please do not breed any of your dogs again, I would hate to see more of them "FOR SALE" Take it or leave it: THATS MY OPNION. |

The future is doomed for yorkies with everyone thinking they can support themselves by Breeding any yorkie they happen to have. mamawmaa - IF you loved your dogs as much as you say - you wouldnt be ABLE to sell them. My girls are my family & my heart - I could never do what your doing and still say I love them ....unless there were horrible circumstances and it was in THEIR BEST INTEREST ONLY....But to just sell them because they don't have something to offer me ? Nope. Never.

Let me preface my remarks by saying I am not directing this to every breeder in East Texas. When I was south of Dallas and trying to buy the first of my 4 babies, I went to and talked to many breeders in this area. It was sooo terrible the many places I visited looking for a pup. There is s huge flea market in Canton, TX (in the same area where this lady is) and when it is there, there are sooooooooooooooo many yorkie and other breed pups for sale there. It is absolutely repulsive to see! I came to the conclusion (IMO) that many many breeders in East TX were selling their pups to the Canton Days Flea Market. Every place I went to, there were massive dogs and puppies and NONE were decent kennels or homes. IMO, it is a pitiful area up there and I would never buy from anyone I saw and I know I went to at least a dozen places! Everyone was just massively breeding anything they could to make money. My 8 babies are my "kids" and there is absolutely no way I could rehome or sell one. Not as long as I am alive and able to care for them myself!

| well I opened my mouth too soon I see. I'm still learning, I agree that I could never rehome/sell one of my babies . I wanted a yorkie for so long, and now I have 2.... and whatever comes along I will deal with it.

| I'm glad you found her a home. And my comment to all who were judgemental - at least this person did not DUMP her dogs in a field somewhere, on a highway somewhere or a neighborhood where she hoped the dog(s) would get picked up by someone. She took the time to post in a forum where she knew the majority of the people love their yorkies and would take good care of the dogs she has/is trying to rehome. If she truly was a puppymiller she wouldn't give a rats a-- where the dogs went to - she'd take him to an auction to be foisted off to the next puppymiller or just plain dump them somewhere. I can't tell you how many times I have seen people dumping their dogs. Give her a break people. I applaud her for rehoming compassionately. |

| Let me first say, I DON'T know if this was a puppymill, "over-active" breeder, or what...I'm just saying, anyone interested in breeding for the money is not going to just dump a dog. They're in it for the money and a Yorkie can be sold, whether it be large or small ,old or young, whatever. Yorkies are a VERY popular breed. Poor babies, being the beautiful, loving little furbabies they are has made them more susceptible to money hungry losers. And yes, I too am very happy this little furbaby has found a home, hopefully a forever home.

| Many of the best breeders rehome their dogs at a certain age. Putting them into good pet homes where they get spoiled and are retired. Or they rehome them because their puppies do not meet standards and the breeder decides to do the right thing. Go closer to the standard and let the adult be strictly a housepet. Im sure people who have bred for many yrs, even with the top of the line credentials have done this, unless they only have just a few yorkies. It can be part of breeding and it can be for the best. |
