| Time to get a brother for Snickers!!!:) I’m ready to get Snickers a brother!!! I’m super excited but know this may take some time as I am looking for the perfect addition for our family. If you know of anyone who has a male pup available, please let me know!! I do have some criteria based on Snick’s needs & our needs. - I would like the new pup to be around the same age as Snick who is 2.5yrs old - Hopefully the pup will be neutered as Snick tends to mark around un-neutered pups. Also hope the pup has been around other dogs (socialized). - I would like the pup to be a MALE-Snick does not get along with Female Terriers - Around the same size as Snickers, but no smaller. Snick is 4.5lbs A larger dog could hurt him although he does hold his own. - I would like to get a pup that is not too far in distance so Snick & the new pup can meet more than a few times to see if temperaments get along. I am in Michigan in the Metro Detroit area. Wiling to travel 2-3 hours. But for the right match, I am willing to travel farther. See what I mean? This will take some time. I would love to get the new addition from a breeder but I am looking into some rescues too. Actually I am going to see this little guys tomorrow at a local shelter, looks purebred to me, the shelter volunteer was unsure and told me he was given up b/c they didn’t have time to potty train him, he is staying with a foster family right now & still working on the potty training: Petfinder Adoptable Dog | Yorkshire Terrier Yorkie | Madison Heights, MI | Jojo Smiles- Snick & Viv

| How exciting! Be patient... the perfect one WILL come along I definitely found Couver's match with Khloe. Even though she is about half the size I thought she would be, she kicks his butt! It's a good thing she isn't bigger... She might hurt my poor little man Good luck!! Can't wait to hear when you find the new addition

| Went and saw Jojo and my heart broke. He was sitting there shaking in his cage b/c a Doxie in the room would not stop barking. Poor baby had the sweetest eyes and came to me in his crate and I scratched behind his ear for a good few minutes for him. He really needed a bath and then he would be stunning. They had him shaved down prob b/c no one wanted to groom him . Little boy....I wanted to hold him so badly so I started filling out an application and they then told me he was already adopted!! I asked about his background but his foster mom wasn't there. Something occurred to me then, if I get a rescue pup, I would want to know about the background. I bought Snick from a dump (b/c I was an uneducated idiot then) and we have spent $$$$$$ on Snick and his LP. Not that it wasn't worth it (Snick is the light of my life & is doing GREAT!!) but I don't think I could do it again (the agony and pain from the surgery that he and I went through-I was a MESS). So with that...I am thinking I am going to either get a pup where I know the background and MAYBE even go the puppy route. Thanks for all the great wishes!!!! You all are the best!! Holiday Hugs- Snick & Viv

| Hey Viv...saw yout post on JoJo...Sad, but we all know everything happens for a reason...Glad the little guy got a home 'though...Ya'know, I was going to go the rescue route, and it didn't work out for me...Then I decided on a puppy...I think I got the best of both worlds, by getting a 4 month old puppy, from a breeder that was holding out on selling her pups, looking to see if any of them would be show quality, or not...Lucky for me, Buzz didn't meet the show criteria, but he sure did my criteria! Anyway, Buzz was 4 months old, and was semi-pad trained, so my job was a little easier, than a bit younger pup...Buzz, eventually, became outdoor trained, like Apple, but will still use the pad for a poopie, in a pinch...Apple won't! The breeder sold Buzz, as a pet, and I think I paid a very fair price for him...Like you, I bought Apple, before I knew any better, from a broker (didn't know that at the time), and I'm fortunate that she seems healthy...I paid, through the nose for her! Of course, I'd do it again, just to get my Apple...They did say she had mild LP, in her back legs, but I think that was from an injury @ 12 months old...She hasn't exhibited any issues, w/her knees, for over a year now ...Buzz seems healthy, all 'round, except for a possible elongated pallette, that causes him to do that backward cough thingy, but I've had him x-rayed, and it doesn't show any CT, or anything...Anyway, I'm rambling...Keep looking, listening, and praying, and before you know it, he'll be there!!!Will be watching this space |
