| Baby department, anyone?? Does anyone else check baby departments in stores for Yorkie "stuff"? We have found cute blankets and other sturdy, baby safe things in these for Toto!! We always make sure the toys are strong enough for her and of course that there is nothing that she can get off them and choke on!

| We do have a baby nightie for Yoda. It's very thin, but it fits him perfectly, well, fit him last time we tried to put it on him. Just funny to see him in a baby outfit, though! |

| We check the baby departments all the time, Our girls, Lacey & Lindsey have lots of clothes, the baby t-shirts size 0-3 months fit them perfectly, they are 5 lbs each.... they wear a white 'nighty' to bed so we can see them in the dim light if we get up during the night. It saves us from stumbling on them in the dark if they get up and move around also. We've found baby t-shirts that say MOMMY LOVES YOU, or DADDY LOVES YOU, or DADDYS GIRL . They have a nice assortment of thermal and baby receiving blankets that they love to curl up in during the winter months. They have a nice small set of animals for babies in Walmart that are just Yorkie size to play with, providing they don't shred things. Our girls just carry them around like it was their puppy, then get funny and start tossing them in the air or shaking them holding on to the toys tail, they come in a pink pig, an yellow lion and a purple elephant . we've even found the little stuffed animals in the McDonalds Happy Meals for kids, sometimes they have a promo that the animals are plain, no eyes, or beads inside and these are favorites around here too, especially the frogs. We check craft stores where they have the 18" doll clothes and found a pr. of beautiful orange fleece vests, they just fit the girls and come in handy to wear here in the fall. I've made them many different occasional visor hats of which they wore since they were babies, they don't mind, have sun glasses too, it sure makes the people laugh and want to take pictures of them. Sometimes you can find the little BEAR SWEATERS also for every month for the really tiny Yorkies. Also check the Dollar Stores for Baby Shirts. I'm practicing to knit 2 needle yorkie sweaters for the girls, if anyone has any patterns for that please let me know. Right now I'm trying to make up my own pattern with the 2 needles from a circular needle pattern, its a challenge. |

| Speaking of Baby Department THINGS : I forgot to mention that we use a genuine " DIAPER GENIE" to hold our 'soiled puppy pads '. and used a Kiddie Coral when the girls were to little to be left alone to roam in the house. we were afraid they would go where we couldn't find them. The Jogging Stroller comes in handy for long walks, especially when you have more then one BABY. When my grandaughter out grew her carseat, it became a nice safe car seat for my 2 Yorkies. Has anyone else used as much baby equipment as I have? |

| I'm guilty too I'm so glad I foung this website, I just got my yorkie a week ago and let me tell you it was love at first sight and I 'm even more in love once I got to know his personality. Well anyway I just wanted to say I'm guilty also of getting baby stuff for him, blankets ,toys and a pacifier (binky) which he loves. everynight before he goes to bed he plays with it and the falls asleep, I know I will continue to buy baby items , since he is so tiny then again there is nothing wrong with it, they are our babies afterall |

| Yes, I too have pondered down the human baby isles within Walmart, Target, etc. One of my favorite items are those small baby wash clothes. They usually come within a package of 4 or so. They are thin and small enough to wash Schatzie's face or what not without having to fight a big sloppy wet washcloth of normal adult size. I found a few months ago at Petsmart "puppy toys". Schatzie received a new rattle, crinkley stuffed thingy, and I cannot remember whatelse. It's just funny as they look identical to human baby toys. Had I not owned pets and came across them Id truly believe they would be for human babies, LOL Another item within the human baby dept. purchased has been soft fuzzy blankets and a pillow to add volume to the car seat when Schatzie was real little.

| Toto will soon be 19 months old and I regularly "haunt" the baby departments to see if there are new things! When she and our little Abbi [granddaughter ... just turned 2] were younger, Toto would steal Abbi's pacifier and run and get on the sofa [where she thought she was safe from the world!] and sit there sucking on it! I, naturally, bought her one of her own and she promptly chewed it up & I promptly threw it away! But I do love the neat things in the baby departments ... one reason, I feel like there are stricter "safety standards" and Toto doesn't destroy things so I don't worry as much about her getting hurt. I inspect her toys regularly and if they are looking "unsafe" we either repair or discard them! Or favorite "doggy toys" are the tiny ones for small dogs that are washable and have the little velcro tummies and you can put new squeakers in there! She has one that you can put treats or some dry kibble in it and it encourages them to chew and play with it! It entertains her for a long time!!
