I do have to say sadly that if she has a lot of money to spend in a pair she is going to get one regardless.. maybe not here but I betcha she will...

I'm sure she will, but not from a reputable breeder......The dog world is very small. Reputable breeders know whose who out there.....I for one will post her thread on other lists.......

I am putting it on the silkie groups I belong too.. just in case she contact one of us out of desperation..

I just posted in another thread that she should use the money to set up grants for grooming schools, lending money for them to start their own dog walking business and so on why breeding? is NO money if done right..
why she is teaching this ladies how to take advantage of the poor dogs..

I noticed from your profile page link, you are interested in helping women who have been exploited by others. I think this is commendable, but you must understand that many of us see dogs being exploited too. People using dogs in order to make a living or to suppliment their income is just plain wrong; they are exploiting dogs for there own personal benefit. If you do any research on the subject, there are many irresponsible breeders who have chosen breeding stock for all the wrong qualities, things like size or unusual colors, or even availability have won out over such qualities, as health and whether the dog meets standard. A reputable breeder understands that a puppy can not be sold as a breeder, there is no way to know if a puppy will be suitable for breeding, any breeder who will sell you a puppy for breeding, knows very little about breeding, and is only breeding to make money. Do not reward this person who exploits dogs for there own selfish reasons. Responsible breeders are very lucky to just break even, there is so much money that goes into a responsible breeding program, and it's a passion and lifestyle, for responsible breeders. As you know, almost anyone can have a baby, but it's takes someone special, to be a "Mom", and the same is true of dog breeders, don't become or encourage others to become irresponsible breeders. Learning to breed properly takes years; it's not a skill you can teach in a few months. Teaching the girls that exploitation in any form is wrong would be a very valuable lesson.

WOW, Nancy. You hit the nail on the head here.

This (breeding inconspicuously) is like moving the girls from being the victim (being exploited) to Victimizer (doing the exploiting!). It just continues them along the chain they are already on. Sad sad sad.

My opinion is that while it could be a great idea to teach Dog Grooming and Training as a "trade", it would not be a good practice to teach Breeding as a "trade".

In my belief, Breeding is a passion, a lifetime commitment, is EXTREMELY complicated and risky for the Mama and Pups - and takes years of Mentoring/learning before you should actually proceed with a first litter. Personally, I would not teach people about breeding unless they have a burning passion and seek to find that path for themselves...otherwise, a little information can be dangerous for the dogs. Just my humble opinion.

Why not an endangered species if you were really trying to do something helpful? Why not go to the woods and try to locate some endangered species? This WOULD BE A GOOD LESSON AND HELPFUL TO THEM.
If you were on the uppity/up you would not be saying YOU WANT TO GROOM, BREED & ALL THESE THINGS W/ YORKIES. It does not make sense. No decent breeder allows randoms any right to a line worth breeding. Sure there are breeding dogs available. But they are not dogs that should NOT be bred. It takes many years to learn about breeding these little dogs. You can't just decide to get two dogs and mater them then have puppies. Not for any reason, especially a wild hairball excuse like teaching something. This is a foolish idea, it's selfish and dangerous.

There are lots of things young girls would LOVE to learn about. I'm not going to get crass here, but let your mind wander. What you want here would be HORRIBLE for them. It would be cruel to the dogs. I have to question your ability to care for the girls in any capacity. What respectable person feels it's important to teach dogs to have sex?

I'm not going to apologize or sugarcoat this b/c you came here acting like you mean well. This is insane.
