YorkieTalk Newbie! | Looking for a female Teacup Yorkie I have sifted through scam after scam and I'm angry. I really want one for my girlfriends daughter. She is 11 and is very responsible. We live in Oregon and I want to be able to see the puppie before we take her home. If you are a breeser or know someone who is or can point me in the right direction for a puppie here in Oregon or Washington. Please please let me know. |

http://www.theyorkshireterrierclubof...ocs/Teacup.pdf You may want to read up on what is considered a responsible breeder: http://www.theyorkshireterrierclubof...LE_BREEDER.pdf The Yorkshire Terrier Club of America would be a good place to start if you are looking for a healthy yorkie puppy: Yorkshire Terrier Dog Breeders- Yorkie Puppies

| Isn't Deb Siller's Amazing Yorkies in Oregon? I think in Sunny Valley, OR 541-479-4429 if she still has that number. Top quality, healthy Yorkies, but no teacup scam stuff from her. Health is what counts. All Yorkies are toy dogs.

| Size of parents is not guarantee Quote:
Even if you find a breeder with smaller parents that is no guarantee that the puppies will end up small. Just like people and family lines, where we've all met someone who doesn't look like the rest of the kids or their parents, puppies can get genetic traits from generations past including larger size. The bottom line, find a good breeder with good references with healthy puppies and a good guarantee, meet the parents, do the temperament testing, follow up with your own vet check, and love the puppy you get. Yorkies are really cute AND require a lot of knowledgeable care (just read all the threads in the forum), require excellent vet support, and all the training to turn a little pup into a great dog. They also require more grooming daily than the average mutt! It's good you recognized the "teacup" scammers and are on the track to find a reputable breeder. Read the articles in the previous post. | |

| I live in Seattle area and have a very small boy yorkie but my sister will be looking for a home for a litter starting September 1st when they will be 4 months. Let me know if you are interested, I can get you in touch with her. You can come and look at the puppies( I believe she only has one female). She is not a breeder, but all puppies come with documents and can be AKC registered if you want. |

| No, she is not a breeder on a regular basis with a breeder name and wverything. The puppies have documents so it's not like you are playing a guessing game and you can see them. It's up to you, seams like there are really a lot of negative opinions about everything on almost every thread. I'm not trying to convince you of anything. Just let me know if you are interested. If not, that's fine. She will sell her pure bred yorkies no problem. Good luck |

You mention documents. I assume you mean papers that say the pups are pure bred. Does she also have documents regarding genetic testing of the pups she is breeding? Does she provide a contract and cover any health issues? Those are the things that are ultra important. You are right...easy to sell a yorkie....but it also is sadly very common for them to end up on the streets or in shelters. There is more to placing a yorkie than just giving him/her to someone with the money in hand.
