| I came on this thread today to see how your visit went at Clover Hill and have to say I am very upset to see what had been written..... I realize most of what was written was probably due to your lack of inexperience, or maybe not worded correctly however that does not make it any easier for Susan nor any other reputable breeder to read.... it is one thing to ask about taping ears, shipping dogs, and temperaments but to say one does not love and care for their dogs because they place them once they are retired is just not true.... those that keep their retired dogs in cages for the rest of their lives are the ones that don't care....... From what I have read Susan was very honest with you probably more honest than most would be. Many show breeders have dogs shipped to them in order to better their breeding programs..some go as far as having them shipped from other countries....a reputable breeder looks to enhance their lines not to just continue to breed from within their own. They want to better the breed not simply reproduce, which they could easily do with a brother and sister but then that would be considered a back yard breeder. Anyone who breeds to the standard most likely at one point or another have taped their puppies ears to help them stay up straight. Yorkies ears are suppose to stand up straight...floppy ears, while they may be cute to some, are not proper breeding. I was very disappointed to read your comment about how Susan must not love and care for her dogs because she is able to place her retired dogs. Susan's dogs live in the house with her and her husband and are well taken care of...I can say this because I have personally been to her house as I have other breeders. Due to her caring about them and living in her house as part of her family she realizes that she cannot keep every retired breeder dog because she could not possibly give them all the love and attention they deserve. And Susan chooses to retire her dogs at 5 where I have heard of others breeding well into the age of 7 and 8 years old. Susan does this for the dogs sake. You wrote to Yorkies Inc asking for a recommendation of a reputable MA breeder so I would have assumed that you felt Yorkies Inc was a reputable placement service...looking out for the best interest of the dogs..why else would you have bothered to ask our opinion? Yet here you imply the opposite by your comment about placing with a rescue. During your visit you further mentioned Yorkies Inc to Susan and at that point she told you that she was going to place one of her retired females with us. One would have thought you would have been happy to find out that she only breeds to age 5 and then makes sure that they go to loving homes. Yorkies Inc is not a shelter and really not even a rescue...while we do take in dogs that need to be rescued we are really a placement service that works with breeders and even owners that need to place their dogs. Your statement made it sound like Susan was just ridding herself of a retired dog that was no longer needed and that is the farthest from the truth. Yorkies Inc works very hard to make sure that each dog we take in is matched with the best possible new home. We do home visits ,vet checks, and personal references. We also stay in contact with anyone who has adopted through us and send up-dates to any breeder who has placed a dog through us. Susan could have easily sold this dog for a couple hundred dollars but she knew that Yorkies Inc works with breeders and ensures that the dog goes to the type of home the breeder feels is the best fit. In fact Yorkies Inc has often refused applicants who then have to go out and buy a Yorkie puppy because we do not feel they are the best match for one of our dogs. I know of a person who went to look at Susan's puppies and was turned down because Susan felt the dog was going to be crated too much and did not like the fact that the dog would not be crated in the bedroom at night but down the hall... if Susan was only about the money and running a business then she would have sold this women a dog...however she wanted the best for her puppies as she does her retired dogs. This women was able to easily purchase a Yorkie Puppy from someone else in that area. (I personally know this women...this was not told to me by someone else) I do not want to start this thread up again but felt that I needed to post because you had asked Yorkies Inc for a reccomendation (and I reccomended Clover Hill on the thread) and now I feel that both Susan and Yorkies Inc have gotten the short end of the stick...where both only have the best intentions of all Yorkies including retired breeder dogs who are ready to stop being Moms and ready to become mothered themselves. Yorkies Inc has placed many retired breeder and show dogs and we hope to be able to continue to do so in the future working closely with the breeder to make sure the dog is placed in the most appropriate home.

PM me your mailing address and I'll copy my Judabob file to you so that we can go for 100% accuracy here. My girl was born 10/23/2003 and I received her on11/29/2004. I dealt directly with Kathleen Parsley or a very convincing imposter. I was having further conversations with her in late 2005 after Heidi had her fist litter. Not too long after that I was unable to reach her by phone when I wanted to talk to her about getting more of her dogs. I don't know exactly when she died. Mea culpa, mea culpa. Thanks, though, for confirming that Judabob is/was one heck of a nice bloodline. | |

| Oh no... This is crazy.. I know that the original poster didn't have bad intension probably but she was gathering some knowledge about how to choose a yorkie puppy. I had questions like that before coming to YT. I definitely wouldn't have asked the questions mentioning specific name of breeder. I would have just asked as a general question or done search on YT. There are a lot of things people need to learn and know before purchasing the puppies. As much as some of you feel like defending the breeder, but the fact is that the breeder is doing right things and best things that she can do. It is about lack of knowledge on the original poster. But the good thing is that she is asking questions. It would have been nice if the words came out differently. There is a thing called "teething" that puppies go through... I think it is wonderful that breeders place retired ones to home who would continued the love for her/him. By the way Yorkie Inc is great I have met Tae1107 many times and she is wonderful. My landlord and my yorkie friend got yorkies from Yorkie Inc and they were so happy with their experiences. I think Tae1107 is very resourceful and knowlegable. There are a lot of people on YT that I have asked many many questions privately so that I don't sound ignorant but can ask questions freely.
