and yes, there are often posts for yorkies to buy on here and they are in a wide range of prices so hopefully everyone can find one that suits their wants and budgets! ;)

It's not your fault at all. :( You are new to both the board and Yorkies and no one expcts you to know everything...heck, none of us know everything.:p Luckily, there are people who will give you suggestions and point you in the direction of some helpful areas, give you the heads up on something you may not have known, etc etc.

Great post for this new person. :D That was thoughtful that you passed on the link. I knew I had seen one, but I am still no pro at the searching part.

I just went and read the thread. So far this puppy has not been rehomed, or at least it does not say she has. good luck. I am surprised that link was not sent out earlier. But it is now.

I was also reading another thread about some Yorkies that need new homes, they are RESCUES, they are beautiful and I saw 3 or more that were potty trained. I'd start there. Lots of LUCK!!

I don't think it's so much what you're saying.. You're simply copying from the rules...which do ask members not to post looking for a yorkie under $500 (which she was not doing). Maybe instead of posting from the rules you can provide her the link to the rescue forum and suggest that she look there for one. If you have a problem w/ the OP's post or think it breaks the rules (which I'm not saying you do), you can simply PM admin instead of posting in threads such as this.

I for one hate to see arguments...especially on YT. We don't want to intimidate the new members or scare them away. We want to make this feel like home for them so that they will trust us and come to us when they need help.

To the OP: You might want to check your local ads.. mine always have some yorkies that aren't registered and are available for much cheaper than a registered yorkie. You can also try the rescue forum or your local animal shelter/humane society. There are always dogs out there that need a home :)

Actually, the part where she gave her price was edited out, not that it matters.:cool: If it's not "so much what I'm saying" then please tell me, what is it? LOL.

Marla I think you had better let people know that your yorkie did not die but was killed by your lab. I would be very lery of letting my pup or dog go into this situation. I just read the other post. "coco is gone" BamaFan was just trying to warn people but I'm telling those of you not aware this is the problem.

I have to admit, that this 'freak accident' is quite bothersome. I don't think you should bring another pup or small Yorkie into your home right now. If it happened once already, 'it' could happen again. I am so sorry you lost Coco and I am sure your Lab didn't do it on purpose, but accidents happen, and this one was fatal. Again, sorry for your loss, but maybe you should look at a 'bigger' breed, one that your Lab can play with and not hurt by accident.

I agree. I didn't feel like anything I said was intimidating, it was only meant to be helpful...as indicated by the several other posts I made trying to ensure the OP of just that. :) Thanks for taking the time to see both sides.

Bama's words were not meant as an attack...but, as an attempt to be helpful. So many have come on and posted this or that without reading rules......with that said I know Bama was attempting to assist this person in her search for a new puppy in the correct manner and divert her from continue posting in an incorrect manner.

Time and again people are jumped on when their only cause is to protect YT members from making incorrect decisions.

I too went back through the original posters posts.....and failed to post what I discovered....she purchased a yorkie puppy at 8 weeks of age and brought it into a home with another lab. In a moment of unwatchfulness, puppies being puppies wanted to play....the lab took offense and killed the puppy, punctured the puppy's lung and it died. Once again she's making a wish for another puppy at a lower fee.

So once again in defense of Bama....her attempt was to alert YT breeders, as well as YT members....

Very well said and I totally agree..

I also dont think a yorkie should be "tried out" again the OP's home..its not being mean its just the fact that it could happen and why risk it?? I would opt for a bigger breed of dog...sorry..
