Hi Marla and welcome to YT. You didn't specify what you meant by not much cash on hand but I have seen numerous good prices for some babies on here...I'm sure if you look around, you'll find one. Also, if you get a puppy that is more than you are expecting, maybe you can just use what you have now to put down as a deposit as most breeders require & by the time the puppy is ready to leave it's mommy, you may be able to come up with the rest. As long as you know it doesn't stop there and these little babies require continuous spending..especially if you spoil them like most yorkies owners do!:D Good Luck and i hope you find one!

This is so true. I have always advised if you are short of funds do not buy a dog of any kind because the maintenance will put you in the poor house.
Good food and good health care is so expensive today so even with an animal from a shelter that you may only have to pay a couple hundred dollars for it does deserve good care. In typing this post I am not only thinking of the dog but you too.

Maybe you can put aside a fund and add to it little by little and you never know when your financial situation will improve. I'm so sorry you lost your yorkie, it's heart breaking and the holiday season seems to be a time you want to fill that void but think it through wisely and do the best thing for you and a new yorkie you may have some day. I can completely understand why you would be touchy having just lost your poor Coco last Friday after only having had her a few weeks, especially in the way in which it happened. I cannot imagine how devastating that must be for you and my heart goes out to you.:(
Please don't think that people were making private jokes about you--references made to a situation not even related to you, but I can see where it would have been confusing.

I'm so sorry that you lost your Coco.....I know that you are devestated and as Bama mentioned, especially in the way it happened.

......I hope that you soon will find a pup to fill the void in your heart....I know that Coco will not be able to be replaced, but you will be able to smile when you think of your lil love.

that is great FL-tink. I have had a picture of a beautiful yorkie up on my vision board for months to a year now. I had one for three weeks and then she died suddenly. I hope that it is not because it is not meant to be. I love yorkies and am so addicted now. I miss her dearly.

I dont understand why you keep posting this info on threads where members are looking for a cheaper pet. some times we do get one or two on here that are very cheap and looking to be rehomed. I agree that they need to think of vet bills and everything else a pet may need But why keep posting this?

I don't understand why this continues to be a problem!? I was careful to edit out what others found offensive before, so what is the problem with it now? Rather than type the whole thing out, I copied and posted a section explaining the average cost of Yorkies and that made suggestions on if you have a tight budget, suggested she try the rescue thread as well--it states what I would suggest shortly and nicely. I mentioned nothing about vet bills or what a pet may need so why has that been brought up as if I did? Why is it such an issue!?:mad:

Can someone show me exactly where she mentioned the magic trigger dollar amount of looking for a Yorkie of under $500? For the life of me I cannot find it. Not having much cash is completely discretionary so what one person feels as "not having much cash" can be totally different than another's idea of "not having much cash".
And, tragically, she just lost a Yorkie so I imagine she has a good idea of the potential problems, costs, etc... associate with having a Yorkie.

To the OP, I truly hope you find a little one to fill the empty space in your heart that I cannot begin to imagine.

thanks to all, and I must say i am so sorry for starting this eruption of anger. LOL. I did not mean to cause any harm. the forum says yorkies for sale or wanted, so i told people i wanted one.

Don't worry Marla, you didn't do anything wrong. its just that in the past we've had a lot of people, usually newer members, come on asking for a free yorkie. And you weren't doing that of course, but sometimes our brains just kind of switch to that immediately. Hopefully we didn't turn you off the site. :) Stick around, your baby will find you eventually!
