| Donating YT 7000 Club Member | I wish you wouldn't leave, because we aren't bad people here. Unfortuantly, like I said, we've had a lot of scammers come on who fail to mention health problems. I know that those weren't your intentions, as does everyone else, and that you mentioned her health problems in your first post. You were very honest about her, which is admirable, considering that's not something that's easy to find in a person. Dina was just trying to help. The board kind of has mood swings so to speak, and people get touchy with some subjects. You did nothing wrong, and no one said anything with intentions of bashing you. I really hope you decide to stick around and give us another shot.

This is an open forum. Dina spoke with you this weekend about your dogs for sale, and was stating her opinion on how she felt about what was said during her conversation w/you. I would do the same, if I felt there was something wrong. If you are confident in your dogs for sale, I don't see why you would leave.. | |

| I would like to know more. Especially wether or not she has an open font. Would you mind answering that? You can answer in a PM if you prefer. I might be able to help you find her a home, but I need to know more about her medical history and what tests she has had done first.

| No... again you misquote me... I said the moderator or administrator says to pm people you have issues w/... I did not say pm the moderator. I just feel there are probably several things I said that you misunderstood. That is the only thing I can come up w/ because for the life of me... I can't figure out what you could have thought I was being dishonest on. I skipped my kids flu shots to try to get you pics to keep my word... was ready to drive an hour to meet you 1/2 way ...just so you could look at them... and then you would have seen them for yourselves. My husband is a lawyer... if I have a health quarantee contract ... it is valid... unlike a lot of them. What would you have to be worried about. I don't know... but this is making me sick to my stomach |

| No... she does not have an open font... sorry...got worked up and didn't answer that directly... there is nothing wrong w/ this dog. She is just a runt. Her sister was sold to my best friend's mom... 3 houses down... and her brother... they are more than double her size...lol. Actually that lady bought her too... but her sister attacked her... was crazy w/ her... so she traded her for the brother... and he keeps the crazy girl in check...lol. Anyway... I am trying to calm down... For the person that asked why I am getting upset... well ... I was at first... but then I was going to let it go... then she just keeps implying I am not trustworthy.... or am hiding problems about these dogs. Whatever... it is christmas season... anyone who sells dogs knows that I won't have trouble selling them. And I will hold onto casper till then... even though people want him ... he has to go to a home w/ no babies.. and I am not lowering my price...haven't found the person that fits both those bills yet. GiGi... I am really really wanting her to go to an experienced home. The person who has first dibs... is trading me a temperpedic mattress for her.... and 3500 mattress... and I am still scared to give her to her... and told my hubby I kinda hope she backs out.... So when I found this site...read posts... I just thought God answered my prayers... w/ dina too.... She can think what she wants... and apparently that means telling you guys things that you should be able to judge for yourselves... guess it's the mama in her... I just sooo enjoyed posting here this weekend... w/ everything going on in my life it was such a release or relief from my reality... I could concentrate on what I loved w/ o worrying about other things.... I'm sorry... I shouldn't have tried to post a sale...then I could have just enjoyed the site w/o my character being called into question... and no matter what she says... that is what she continues to do by saying... "oh... there were so many things that I won't go into".... |

| I never saw that Dina was rude to you or necessarily calling your character into question. She had gotten a comment from you this weekend and asked you about it so that she, as well as other considering buying your dogs, could see the answer. A reputable breeder has nothing to hide and will answer any questions potential buyers have..they don't get defensive and feel like they are being attacked when a question of health or ethics comes up. You should be happy to answer any questions that anyone has about your dogs. She had gotten a bad feeling from you for some reason and wanted it clarified. She shouldn't have had to PM you because what she asked was something that everyone should know. It was only with your pushing did she finally say she just didn't trust you and she must have had a good reason for that. Maybe you have nothing to hide but something just didn't sit right with her. I know I have a VERY narrow view on what a reputable breeder actually is and maybe Dina does too and maybe you just didn't meet her criteria for some reason. Also, a one month guarantee on congenital defects is nothing...you might as well not even have a guarantee. A lot of genetic problems aren't diagnosed to one year or even two years of age. My Lacy has Luxating Patella that wasn't diagnosed until she was two years old. If you really stand behind the health of your babies, I would increase that health guarantee. I know I wouldn't buy a puppy with a one month guarantee. Anyway, good luck with your sale.

| Hmmm... as I am not a breeder...my friend is... that I can't be a disreputable breeder...lol. I was very open about that fact. She had already been told the answer to the question... maybe she didn't understand the answer. But that would have been fine... but she did imply other things. Look... maybe a reputable person wouldn't get upset... and that is what you think... but that is bull crap. It has to do w/ the personality of the person whether they get upset and someone that really cares about how they are perceived... and maybe by 35 I should have outgrown that...lol... but I haven't. I have so much stuff going on in my life...sometimes it is the little things that send me to tears and hysteria...like my 5yr old cutting her hair yesterday... I almost had a nervous breakdown..lol. Anyway... I was just hurt because I liked her... I was open and honest about all the dog's faults... all dogs have faults... so it hurt me when she implied other than that... I am happy to answer any and all questions... but once we are dealing on pms... deal on pms until you don't have an issue resolved... it just lamblasted me that is all. Like I have said... I go overboard to tell people negatives because I don't want to have to give their money back and I don't ever want one of my dogs to end up in a shelter. So... I really don't know this... people give guarantees for years? I didn't know that...really... and I thought knee problems were diagnosed from birth because I know breeders that put dogs down for that... which is insane!! don't breed their parents but don't put the puppy down... Anyway... this is the reason I am here ... to find out stuff like that. And when people can inform you in a nice way... this site is great. I just have seen people get attacked because they have had differing opinions on when dogs should be picked up... stuff like that... state your opinion... but don't jump someone (not that I think Dina jumped me... surprised me...but not attacked). |

| can someone tell me how to get this site from stop sending emails telling me when someone has replied to this thread... or any other. I am not leaving the site... if I have a problem... there is too many knowledgable people that love yorkies to give that up... but I just don't want to feel the need to respond to all these people. I tried to take back my for sale tiny but it went to the moderator so it is still there. Anyway... if I could just make it where I have to come here to look and I don't have 5million emails about who is responding to what I might be able to get some sleep |

Yes, reputable breeders offer much longer genetic guarantees. A year is okay I guess but I prefer a lifetime guarantee against genetic issues. Reputable breeders health test all of their dogs and know their lines so that there should be no genetic issues at all in any puppies born. And if any do happen to come up, the breeder eliminates those dogs from their lines (not by putting down but by spaying/neutering). Knee problems can take months to a year or a little more to show up. Puppies bones have a lot of growing to do...growth plates don't fuse until almost 12 months of age in most dogs.

| Those of you who said I was defensive... you were right. I was. I have had that problem since a teen. I thought I was over it... I went outside.. had a smoke...stood in the freezing rain... realized I was being defensive and that is a vicious cycle. Let me tell you about me... not that I am trying to sell anyone here anymore. My parents have a friend...she is the vice pres. of the poultry company he is the president of...we have been friends for 20yrs. We have always got our maltese from her. Well... my mom bought my 5yr old a yorkie for her 5th birthday... although she was only 4 1/2... I want to be totally honest. So... after we got back to Virginia (where I live w/ my husband who is a Jag in the army) I had many people offer me money for her. I was offered 3000 for her... but she is my baby (opps and my daughter's , she constantly reminds me)... so I would say no... tell them where I got her. Well... my friend only deals w/ local people who refer local people... blah blah.. word of mouth and brokers (she started this business due to trying to buy one 25yrs ago...from a horrible puppy mill... and wants to make sure healthy puppies are out there ... she had contact w/ usda due to the chicken business... and a good friend who was her horses' vet and he helped her a lot). Well... anyway... here is why I started buying from here... she wouldn't sell to people up here... she doesn't ship or like dealing w/ picky customers w/ a million questions... which I btw like to educate and answer questions... I even loan out my yorkie books...to ea. person who buys a puppy from me) So... about 4yrs ago I had to quit my job. My husband was diagnosed w/ stage 4 malignant melanoma (in an area that never sees the sun for what its worth). I was having to drive him to radiation.. chemo... pet scans... cat scans... mri s... anyway my parents were having to loan me money to bring the grand babies to see them. One person asked me to get them a puppy... so I did. I charged a fee for the travel and trouble. Christy said she could sell me some when I came down which she would give me a reduced price on (although never a reduced price during christmas season).... which I could sell to people up here. This would at least take the burden of not being able to travel w/o my parents money off me. So... as people would ask about my dog... I put them on a list and said I would call them if I could get one like they wanted. That is what I did.... and word of mouth spread. I by no means sell very many... I could probably count on my fingers and toes the amount in the last 2 yrs....the most I had at a time was 7 this summer and 3 were presolds and she offered me an excellent deal on 4 little boys that I couldn't pass up. I came up here... got scared I couldn't sell them because I placed an ad in the post w/ only girl calls (1st time I've ever placed an ad besides a flyer at our local safeway) and so I marked them way down... made enough on the 4 extra to pay for my trip to get the presolds ... and had 300 left over... so I didn't make a lot ( I drive a gas guzzling expedition). I basically sell about 2-3 every 3-4 months. Mostly to people who want my dog or now to people who have met other people I have sold to. My husband since that first cancer at 33 yrs old has had a second... an undiferentiated carcinoma that ate the bones on the left side of his face (which now has a titanium implant to hold the skin up).... and the end of last yr he was diagnosed w/ Ewings Sarcoma (which is usually a children's bone cancer and extremely fatal to adults)... and had to have his left femur removed (all his cancers until now are on the left...wierd) and has a titanium femur. He was in chemo for 10months and quit because it was killing him (it was suppose to be 14months). Two months later... just the other day actually he was diagnosed w/ a forth cancer ... this time it is in the lymph nodes that drain from the liver. He has a biopsy Tueday but they are sure it is the Ewings again... if it is.. it is sadly almost a death sentence (except for the fact that I believe he is a walking miracle and the grace of God can pull us through this). But this time I am at my wits end... I don't know how much more he can take... my kids can take... or I can take... I feel like I am dying with him. My children are all freaking out in there own ways... it is just too much. So... I tell you I am sorry w/ a truly heavy heart.... I am tired... snippy... and really .... just trying to find the best homes for the 2 smallest dogs I've ever had. I am as honest as I can be... it is just I am so distracted... and tired that I am sure I am not myself when people talk to me. I don't have a lot of friends in the are... only 3 actually and none real close... when I talked to dina I thought wow... this is how I can make friends here. I am a southerner and No. Va is just way different than my way of life...and w/ 4 kids and everything we have gone through since living here... it doesn't leave time to make lasting friendships. I don't do this to make "no" money. That would be ridiculous. These babies are more work than my 2yr old! I do it to pay for the trips home... to put my kids in sports and just to make enough extra to do things we otherwise couldn't do w/o me working. I don't know who is familar w/ the D.C. area... but even though my husband is a Major... we in no way make enough money to live here w/o some money from me. I probably won't do this much longer. If he does die and I move home.. I will have to work...I'll have family to help w/ the kids... so I won't need to supplement my income. When I get these puppies... they are brought into a loving home... socialized w/ my children (who...don't worry are watched every second the dogs are out)... and since I have to crate them more that I ever do my dog (who is the least potty trained dog because of this...lol) the are potty trained... or at least almost all of them I get... before I sell them. She doesn't sell them to me until they are 12 wks... so unless I have a preorder...they are usually 16-20wks before I sell them...sometimes...like w/ these two more (although the girl I got really late...so I have only had her about a month and 1/2). If I was looking for a quick buck... I would find a better way than this. It is great... I love the dogs... it allows me to have them w/o keeping them and my husband is at his keeping do limit (I have a 14yr old min. schnauzer, a 4yr old Boston and Chloe ... my Yorkie... my husband's 12yr old lab ... think I told someone 14 but he was 12 passed away a couple of months ago... destroying my husband at a real bad time!) I don't tell you this to get sympathy... I just want everyone to know why I sort of went off on a defensive tangent... although it is truly no excuse... and so everyone would TOTALLY understand where I get my dogs and who I deal w/ and why. Thanks for your listening ear... Dina I'm sorry and sorry for the others who had to read it.... Nikole |
