Look... maybe a reputable person wouldn't get upset... and that is what you think... but that is bull crap. It has to do w/ the personality of the person whether they get upset and someone that really cares about how they are perceived... and maybe by 35 I should have outgrown that...lol... but I haven't. I have so much stuff going on in my life...sometimes it is the little things that send me to tears and hysteria...like my 5yr old cutting her hair yesterday... I almost had a nervous breakdown..lol. Anyway... I was just hurt because I liked her... I was open and honest about all the dog's faults... all dogs have faults... so it hurt me when she implied other than that...
I am happy to answer any and all questions... but once we are dealing on pms... deal on pms until you don't have an issue resolved... it just lamblasted me that is all. Like I have said... I go overboard to tell people negatives because I don't want to have to give their money back and I don't ever want one of my dogs to end up in a shelter.
So... I really don't know this... people give guarantees for years? I didn't know that...really... and I thought knee problems were diagnosed from birth because I know breeders that put dogs down for that... which is insane!! don't breed their parents but don't put the puppy down...
Anyway... this is the reason I am here ... to find out stuff like that. And when people can inform you in a nice way... this site is great. I just have seen people get attacked because they have had differing opinions on when dogs should be picked up... stuff like that... state your opinion... but don't jump someone (not that I think Dina jumped me... surprised me...but not attacked). |
Yes, reputable breeders offer much longer genetic guarantees. A year is okay I guess but I prefer a lifetime guarantee against genetic issues. Reputable breeders health test all of their dogs and know their lines so that there should be no genetic issues at all in any puppies born. And if any do happen to come up, the breeder eliminates those dogs from their lines (not by putting down but by spaying/neutering). Knee problems can take months to a year or a little more to show up. Puppies bones have a lot of growing to do...growth plates don't fuse until almost 12 months of age in most dogs.
