| The anxiety! I received our booklet and entries for our first dog show today. It's in Lincoln, Oct. 6th & 7th. I'm having major anxiety attacks! lol I keep thinking, what if Bingo gets excited and trips me up and I fall down! Please tell me I'm not the only one that felt this way their first time!

I hope you've taken some conformation classes, for both of you. As for anyone else feeling like that their first time.....YES!!!!!!!! and everytime I go in the ring. When I began going to dog shows to see the yorkies, I just couldn't understand why the handlers were sweating, my goodness the yorkies are so small, what could be so tough. Well I found out, these little guys make you work, anticapating their every move, correcting it without anyone seeing you (you don't want the judge see you, the dog must appear completely trained). And, I now fully understand how they make you sweat. Just have fun....enjoy, remember when you're nervous, it travels down the lead and you'll lose control of your puppy

| I've never shown a dog before, but I'm sure if I did I would be thinking of anything and everything that could possibly go wrong.

| Just take a deep breath and look at the wonderful dog at the end of the lead. Everything is going to be alright. Just go out and enjoy yourself and doing something that you enjoy doing with your wonderful dog. Your going to do great.

I take something to calm me down just take the edge off, yes the dog will feel your nerves and will pick up your tension and then your off to a shaky start. I bought a holistic drops for calming and it works like a charm Deana Prestigeous | |

| I took a 1/2 of Xanax once to take the edge off....I was so sleepy and relaxed, if the dog had of got out of it's lead and been running through the show site I wouldn't have cared. Another important thing to remember is the dog can smell your nerves from your breath....I contineously have mints in my mouth.....from excersising prior to grooming until we leave the ring.

| You guys are awesome! Thanks! We did not do any conformation classes. The nearest ones are 1 1/2 hrs. away and with 5 kids... that just wasn't possible. So I've gotten lots of help from my mentor and I've read, read, read everything I could get my hands on. I just recently found out that we're expecting baby #6 , so taking something probably wouldn't be the best! I'm sure that's not helping my nerves either. But, I just keep telling myself that this has been my goal and that we CAN do this. So please, pardon all of my questions and bear with me! Thanks again!
