Then there are those show sites that are over air-conditioned and you wish you would have worn your long johns.

| Not to get too off topic here, but I learned a very valuable lesson at that show. Dogs move differently on grass than on the indoor surfaces at shows. You have to watch out for dips and holes in the ground at the out door shows that will throw your dog way off that you would never have to think about indoors. (especially with a toy) Whew. It was nice flat ground (at a huge camp ground) but it still was much different than showing indoors. I now train my dogs indoors AND on grass. |

I haven't shown on dirt as of yet. I bet they do like it. And yes, a bath would be needed soon after I'm sure, lol! I didn't like how little pieces of grass and all would catch in the coat at the shows outdoors on grass, but everyone's was like that, not just mine so no biggie I suppose.

| Then they'd move us to another ring, and you gotta start all over and watch the ground there too. |

Nope, no proff handlers. And no grooming tools allowed out in the open in the ring. I've just recently ventured out into akc showing. It's so different from what I orginally learned. I really like UKC though. I like both clubs to be honest.

I've never shown in anything but, AKC so I wouldn't know the little differences of the clubs.

| I've shown in NCA matches too and you can have brushes and combs there. I shown with them to get past my fear of getting in there and going for it. It's also great experience without so much pressure for my 9 yr old daughter who is learning and showing in jr's. |
