I don't think the nerves ever go away. Although, I found that people in the ring were alwasy willing to help. I've also found that everyone is especially kind to junior handlers showing in AKC. They hold the future of the sport in their hands.

I'm proud of my daughter. She wanted to show since the age of 6. She finally started out at age 8 even though she wasn't quite old enough, so I put her in matches where it didn't really matter. She's now ready to take the bull by the horns, lol. UKC is 10 times tougher on jr's. They have to know their breed standard by heart. The judge can and will ask them a question, for example "what is the normal temp for your dog" ect ect. She is in "yorkie standard school" at the moment...LOL I'm thrilled to give my daughter this wonderful start in dogs and the show world. She will be 10 times the handler I could ever be soon. | |

| There are very few outdoor shows here in the Maritimes. Mostly indoors at an arena. It does make you wonder why people do not put more efort into their clothes! And it is not getting old when someone's bottom falls out of there so-called shorts! I am still young is it grosses me out! It is having some class! lol
