Thanks Carl! It's going to be hard to retire him as he is my boy and traveling companion! However, he will probably still come to the shows with me as my traveling buddy! I hope I can win one but if not he's done extremely well in the ring and I'm so proud of him!
This year is going to be good I think with what's up and coming Good and exciting things happening. Just can't wait for things to get started Can you say excited? LOL

..we do not have shows outdoors in the summer months for the most part..in Md, unless it has changed, many are outdoors, even more then here...

I have another question, I notice that most of the dogs I see from brazil(LBV), Hungary(SOC) Have very very short ears in the photos.
After they get to the U.S and are bred to even imported females the pups come out with big ears. I see alot of that. Do some still secretly crop ears in some places?

Some breeders have a way of "tying" (no pain) ears for the ring and photo's to appear smaller, better placed then a natural set...as to cropping, I have no clue..
I did have a male years ago who has one ear flop at 12 full months...a vet told me he could surgerically insert a thin piece of stainless steel in it...I was escorted out of his clinic, screaming...

You'll Delilah, Tahlulha and Denny in my AVATAR have a smaller tight ear set. Charmer and Go-Go though they have a tight ear set are on the taller side. They're all from the same line. I can accept a taller ear but, cannot handle and eastie/westie ear set.

I've never heard of the ear-cropping procedure on a yorkie until I read it on YT. If it's been done, I just don't know anyone that has had it done.......

I really wish the mindset of people would change. I had a lady come visit me not to long ago looking at the pups. She seen my females and thought they were to big. I couldn't believe she thought 6 1/2 pounds is to big. I tried to explain why I liked a bigger female but gave up and just wanted to get rid of her. I think the short cobby girls are beautiful but for breeding I have had more success with the taller longer girls. I don't know if people will ever get away from the micro mini teacup but we can only hope.

Well as long as there are movie stars who buy this minis, there will be gaggles of folks who want pup xyx just like movie star abc has.

I would not think the hair would grow off the ear correctly is it was cropped...ever seen a Boxer or Dobie ear..you can see the ear leather where the cut was made and there is no hair..of course they are a short haired breed and it is not problem....
I realize people do everything, but I have never in all my years heard of a show breeder cropping Yorkie ears...and there is no reason for a pet breeder to do it....

Breeding smaller and smaller yorkies is not good for the breed or the breeding dogs themselves. You have to continually remind yourself why you are breeding, and the aim of breeding should not be to please a puppy buying public. What's in or out changes too rapidly, and dogs are not a fashion accessory. I hope you stay strong in this.

My girlfriend was told by a lady with a dinky doo 3 pound yorkie that her Mia was not a pure bred yorkie cause she was 6 1/2 pounds..........

My tinies take exception to the "Dinky doo" title..LOL You know I am kidding. I have had many wee ones..why they pop up over and over is a mystery sometimes...nice 6 and 7 pound mom's bred to 5 and plus pound males have given me some of my tinies...my 3 pound Becca is from a 6 1/2 pound male and female..they are healthy and long lived, so I can not complain.
People always ask how big the parents are and don't beleive a big girl can have a little girl or boy.
I had a champion male at 6 3/4 who repeatly sired 2 1/2 and 3 pounders...I retired him at 5 yrs because I had to keep his puppies so long and got attached.

It's what Lee calls them Dinky Do Nothings....Did you know that Doreen Hubbard finished a boy last year called Yorkboro's Dinky Do. She named him that because of Lee....now was he really a dinky, nope about 4 1/2 pounds.
