I dont think I buy that explaination that AKC is allowing registration of partis just for money. If you truly believe that, then why do you show your dogs with AKC??? Why is it that YTCA says AKC is the best registry, but then turn around and make a comment that they're only registering partis for the cash.....? If they were really that dollar-thirsty then why register your dogs through them and participate in their shows???

Parti yorkies are not a new trend. I think YTCA doesnt want the friendly competition. I see their point....they want to protect and maintain the value of their breeding stock and are worried of the parti stealing the show.

Sorry, you are wrong, With Joan Gordon/ Janet Bennett having one born from there champion yorkies in 1976 proves it happens. They most certainly did not MIX their dogs.

Do you have blinders on? Have you even read this thread and the proof that was posted? Did you totally skip the post(s) that shows that a certain show breeder's Ch male has thrown parti pups? And as Breezeway has found out...another well known show breeder in the breed has admitted to having at least one parti as well.

I'm a YTCA member and Im not afraid of the Parti's stealing the show. If I wanted to show a dog like a Parti I would be in that breed. I like the standard yorkie color and prefer it plain and simple :)
AKC is a registry that wants to make money and registering dogs of color does generate money and as we've stated before there is good and bad in every organization. If I had it my way I would like AKC not to be able to register the Parti as a yorkie but I have no control over what AKC does...I don't like everything they do but I do love showing and AKC is the biggest venue for that avenue. Do I agree with every member of either organization no but I still stand behind the breed standard.
And to the other person that asked how I know the Parti won't be accepted by the YTCA anytime soon is because the DQ is gonna get sticter and then it can't be changed again for another 5 years and so on...so I do know for the next 10 years the YTCA will not allow the Parti's in the ring.

And I still haven't bashed anyone :) I'm staying on topic in a friendly manner :)

Does the YTCA get any of the money collected by the AKC from registrations that goes toward research, etc??

I dont think that YTCA is really afraid of a little band of parti breeders. AKC isnt perfect, but is better than any other registry out there for multiple reasons. So I can ask the same question. Why do you want to show AkC? Why not just UKC? Why are AKC shows soooooooo important that you want to champion your carriers?
As for friendly competition, that will not happen. YTCA already made your partis a DQ.

Yorkist: I apologize to you. The stretch from parti cocker to parti yorkie was not you. However up to that point I leave as my statement. Just because you groomed cocker and "all" of them relieved themselves on YOUR table means nothing about the breed in general.

Also do you show yorkies? Skyes? Labs?

When people say what does an ethical breeder do? One thing that comes to mind is that they breed within the standard. This isn't something I say to be mean, be unfriendly or hurt feelings. Its about the betterment of the breed. If you aren't breeding to the standard then you aren't helping the breed. If you aren't helping it, what your doing? Yep, you're hurting it.
The shelters are full of dogs being put to sleep everyday. Why add to it with any breeding? You aren't doing the breed any justice by breeding any more dogs that aren't within the standard. This is true about everyone that breeds. If you are not breeding within the standard to the betterment of the breed you should not do it. You will also help the dogs that are in shelters; it's a rhetorical effect that will stop the whole cycle. Every breeding should be to obtain confirmation candidates. While they are not all likely, this should be the goal. Adding to this, you are intentionally breeding a faulted dog. A dog that I do not nor have I ever seen in anyone's yorkshire terrier breeding program. I know lots of people in this breed that have been breeding for many years. There isn't any secret.

Maybe not new in your opinion. Didn't the directive mean anything to you? Did you enter them before then? Did the numbers drop after the new DQ? Did you have to pull yours because of this? Nope, so why are we even having this conversation?

well ..........one..........they were kept secret for years.......that is a fact.....look it up...........and 2 i thank God everyday that someone had the good sense to breed them..........the partis and biewers are a very gorgeous and loving dog.........that is my opinion...........we all have one.
