Parti Color? YTCA?

*IF* that story is true...it would certainly back up the numerous reports we have all heard of parti puppies being culled in the past.

Yes, and I am aware of it. However, the question was asked about YTCA members producing parti colors and how it should be handled. I've always stated if one isn't breeding to standard, then one isn't breeding to improve the breed. It's what the YTCA stands for.

Yes, we are aware of the standard and YTCA disdain when it comes to the Parti's and like I stated earlier not everyone agrees with it.

I have another question concerning ytca members. I have seen quite a few ytca members post puppies and adults for sale on puppyfind and some have been sold to what I would refer to as some byb on open papers. Why has this not been brought up and why are they still members of the ytca?

Thank-you for the information concerning the Hylan Acre question.

It does disgust me when a breeder states to destroy a puppy! As breeders our first concern should always be the welfare and life of our dogs and puppies. My dogs are part of my family and the thought of destroying one of them because of color physically makes me sick! I do know it happens, but it does not make it right!

Do you know this for a fact? Do you have proof? If not you could be looking at legal action. How can you post a kennel name on an open forum? (I'm just repeating what another member just got through saying)

I do have a hard time believing that they said to put the pup down when all anyone would have to do is have them neutered. And if they did - then that would disgust me too *and* make me wonder why anyone would want to support a breeder like that...

Your Welcome and Yes, I agree.
No pup should be put down because it is born a different color.
But, I would say this practice of destroying the pups by show breeders is done more then the general public knows about, be it off color or to hide a genetic defects.
The name of the game is to protect Ch Dogs and their own reputations in the show world.
Show breeders are very secretive about what pops up in litter boxes or what genetic defects that run in their lines.
If this info gets out, other show breeders do not want anything to do with their lines.
After all show breeders breed to show and sell their dogs mainly to other show breeders.
