7 show dogs die in hot van

Sure one handler made a horrible mistake (I still belive in a second chance) but if she is just "making up the story" it'll be a totallaly a "different story"
Still!!! Just because one one handler is got in to a trouble do we really need to think, that all handlers are swindlers?

This handler will not get a second chance. Her handling career is over and most likely is/will face criminal charges (cruelty to animals). No matter how tired and hot you are. The dogs come first, it was the way I was taught. You take care of their needs before you take care of yourself. I have been dog tired after a day of showing and the dogs will be wrapped, pottied, excersizeed and fed before I even go to the bathroom. No way are they unattended. This girl was supposed to be a professional. Professional handlers have responsibility to the clients and dogs. That responsibility should be above reproach. My gosh after a day of travel, didn't she even take them out to potty? A clients dog should be taken care of with more care than you would your own. I know I would, I wouldn't want something to happen on my watch. I know some excellent handlers, but only 3 that I would entrust my dogs to, that is if I had a need for handler

This is one reason when you are need of handler you must interview, visit their facility. Do some investigation.

This story makes me so-ooo angry at the handler. I believe it was pure laziness on her part. I don't care how far she drove, or how tired she was, those poor dogs should have been brought into the house.

It does say in the article that the cause of death has not been determined. She checked on them at 4 AM and at 6AM they were in "distress" so she drove them to the vet. Did she just have a lapse in judgment?

How about bringing them into the home where they belong. Kennels, garages, crates and hot vans. Are they commodeties or companions.

Because she's handler in this case I would say she thought of them as nothing but her meal ticket. Looking at her site, she only handles big dogs, so more than likely she housed them in her garage. Which is wierd because looking at her past record; lots and lots of wins, I would think she had a kennel. She's been handling since she was a child, now 26, you'd have thought she had more sense. If she was too hot, the dogs as double coated breeds must have been sweltering.

If it's who I think you are talking about that isn't true. It did not hang itself and the maltese was knocked over off the table and there was someone there, it was an accident not of the owners fault, it was an accident.

You're welcome Barbara. No, you can't believe everything you hear unles you see it for yourself. I happened to be at the same show when that happened so I do know the real story with the maltese.

It was topic of conversation at the dog show this weekend Unfortunately some people don't get the heat and how dangerous it is!

No you can't believe anything you hear unless you see it yourself. However, I did see someone that we both know a few years back, put her dog on happy legs and walk away. It was before you and I began showing. The grooming room was seperate from the show room and no one was in there, I happened to walk in and saw the dog and grabbed it.

How'd you do this weekend Donna?

A post was made with the handler's website, I went to recheck it this morning and it was taken down. So sad, such beautiful dogs.

Nope, can't believe everything ya hear!

Don't ask it was not a good weekend but it happens that way...as I always say, another day at the dog show LOL!!!
