| What to do if there is an error on the results from a show So since there are a lot of newbies at the sport (present company included) I figured I would open this up to the group to use it as a learning experience just in case it happens to someone else. I just checked the MB-F results from the show we were in over the weekend and to my horror noticed that there was a mistake on the allocation of the points. Granted there were only 2 dogs, 3 bitches and a special showing that day, Diesel was awarded Winners Dog, Best of Winners and Best of Opposite Sex = 1pt. The judge withheld Reserve from the other dog. So you could imagine how upset I was when I saw MB-F listing the results as the other dog as Winners Dog (given the point) and my dog listed as Winners Withheld/BOW/BOS. Can anyone recommend the best course of action in this scenario? Should I contact the judge? Any help is appreciated! |

| Do you have your ribbon and also did you have your picture taken with the judge? That is usually needed when they have made an error in the points given. I have never encountered this myself. Deana Prestigeous Yorkies and 2 Maltese |

If I do need to contact the judge I am crossing my fingers will remember because she had a rather long conversation with the girl (who's dog she withheld reserve from) telling her the dog didn't have the appropriate coat to be in the ring (it was black and soft-coated). She also went back and forth between Diesel and the special for BOB so I really hope she remembers!! Then again she judged a lot of dogs that day so I dont know.

| Could the results you see posted just be a typo error? I would start by contacting the show superintendent. Congratulations on your win, too! Last edited by bjh; 04-28-2008 at 12:35 PM. |

Yeah, you can tell there is an error because if they withheld winners from my dog how could he go on to win BW and BOS (not to mention how could they withhold winners and give WD to the other dog?). Here is the link: InfoDog Results So, start with the superintendent?

| Yes, you contact the show superintendent. Also if you are still around after judging a good thing to do is go to the point table - see all the clipboards. If you look for your breed - when you find it - check and see if they have the results correctly marked. This way you know before you leave that it was recorded correctly. The clipboards with results are usually kept by the superintendent area. You will probably also notice a lot of handlers over by it. They are checking too. T. |

| I have seen all types of errors with online results. In fact, 2 of my dogs have errors on their show records on Infodog. What matters is what is written in the judge's book and reported to AKC. Call the AKC events dept and they will check. Most likely, everything was reported correctly and there was an error when it was posted online. Mistakes do happen so it is a good idea to go the AKC site occasionally and print a report. It doesn't cost anything to check points but you have to pay for a report of all shows entered and results. Deana, is right that ribbons and pictures are what you need to prove your win. |

| Looks to me like a typo on the website...I'd start with infodog first...because you can't have two dogs being winners...always check the judges sheet after they put it out at the superintendant's table to make sure the sheet was marked correctly. But from what I saw on infodog it's a typo so email infodog first.. Donna Bird |
