| Showing Nightmares!!! I thought this might be a sorta interesting thread to start. Have any of you had a nighmare the night before a show? Here are mine: (yea there are more than one... LOL) My first and biggest nightmare is that I have my dog at ringside and am getting ready to go in the ring... I look down and my dog is still in oil. No top knot, and a lead like the ones they use at the pound (slip over their head). So I am freaken out, crying, and refuse to take her in. Everyone else is laughing and tells me to just go for it. So I go in the ring and the judge is going over my dog on the table and lifts his hands and said "Ummm... is this oil?" "Yes sir" I say. "Would you please leave the ring". Then I wake up. LOL And my second is I am taking my retired male into the ring (he is neutered). This is the weird part. The ring is in a parking lot at a flea market. I take him in and again he is in oil, but this time I have NO lead at all. So I am standing there praying my dog has enough obedience training that he will do what he is supposed to do with out lead. Then someone comes by the ring and give me a rope (yes a freaken bright YELLOW rope). I throw the rope out of the ring and again pray my dog will follow. NOPE off he goes running around the freaken flea market, here I am in my suit chasing after this dog. Then I wake up. Ok now its your turn. Any bizzarr or funny dreams the night before a show? Roni |

| I don't sleep well the night before a show and don't remember if I dream or not but I had a nightmare in the ring. Connor wasn't having a good day, he had diarrhea out of no where. We were on the up and back for the class and he had a runny, yellow bowel movement right there on the runner. He won his class anyway and I rushed him to the bathroom for clean up. They yelled for us back in the ring before I could get him cleaned up. He had such a gooey butt! The judge had us get back on the table and before I could warn him he stuck his hand right in the mess. He grabbed a wetnap and Connor walked bow legged around the ring. Poor Connor, he didn't take WD but we did get the wetnap award, yuck. The judge commented that he didn't win because he was walking wide. I told the judge that he'd walk wide if he had a messy bottom too. What ever possessed me! Connor spent more time in the bathroom getting cleaned up that day than he did doing anything else. I bet we weren't even suppose to be in the bathroom but I didn't care.

| I'm not a breeder, and I don't show, but I had a crazy dream last night. I was on YT before I went to bed, so I guess that's why I was dreaming about yorkies. I dreamt that I found a pregnant yorkie, and I was on the phone with my vet to see what to do because she kept "digging" and crying. So, I'm holding her while I'm on the phone with him, and she wanted down. I set her down, and she starting having her puppies!! I somehow helped her deliver two puppies, and then the third one was a BUNNY RABBIT!!!! I was so glad to wake up and find that I was dreaming!!!!

| I have never had a dog show nightmare but I had a real nightmare several months ago. When I am showing out of town, I like to find a mall and shop. I was at the Knoxville, TN show and had bought the cutest little Ralph Lauren denim dress the night before. I walked into the class got down to stack my dog and the buttons, from the bottom to my waist, popped open. I frantically started try to button them when the judge told us to take the dogs around. I had Deuce's lead in one hand and held the dress together with my other hand. When I stopped, I started buttoning again. I was second in line and I had to put Deuce on the table before I could finish ( she was a very fast judge). I told the judge what had happened and ask if I could take minute to button up. She totally ignored me and started going over the dog. I took my hands off of my dog to button my dress. At that point, I could care less if he was stacked or not. It was a big class. We didn't win but at least we got a placement. |

| The real nightmares of showing are far worse than anything that I could dream! 1. Like the morning of a show no running water in the hotel and having to go rent another room in a different hotel to bathe my dog. 2. Having a judge change from a good judge that I know likes my dog to a judge that doesn't like me at all because it was my duty to collect the hot check she wrote to my local kennel club! 3. Having a judge give Winners to a dog that was drug across the ground and then being told by handlers all the stuff that ppl do to their dogs to be able to show them. Stuff like fake testicles, wired ears, etc. This was a death of a dream to me. Before that I thought that Ch. meant something for every dog that has it, but man was I wrong. Put it w/ the right handler and boom you have a top ranked dog. But I will ad that the joys of showing have far outwayed the nightmares! |

| I'm still laughing about monkeys and bunnies....LOL! I don't show either, but my husband has been hearing about YT from me and last night he dreamt that a large box was delivered to our house and it was full of Yorkies of every size and age. He was trying to remove the placentas from the new borns and keep the others from running all over the house.... HA!!! Even he is dreaming about Yorkies now.....
