Galahads' face is better but not much lol...Hes got problem with rubbing anything out of his coat...His body is just to die for...So thick and straight and shines so beautiful naturally...It's his head I can't get not to dry out...His body isn't dry at all...Makes no sense to me! Thanks for all your Precious Wisdom on their coats. I dearly love it. Hugs, Lee

I'm going to keep using the Neutrogena Light Sesame Formula on Weezie and Sofie...Going to try the Summerwinds Clarifying Shampoo on them for the Vellus I feel is causing them to itch so bad. Then I'll report back here after a few months and let you all know what I think of all of them and how their coats grew with them all...I don't show so I can be everyones tester here lol...I just want long coats on all my Yorkies...I know I'm batty for it but I adore Yorkies in long coats. I don't wrap any of my Yorkies. How often do you bath when in the Summerwinds? Is the Summerwinds oily enough to allow scrunchies to slide out??? My 3 gals since they all 3 had/going through their 1st heat cycles are pulling their own ponys out...Drives me batty...Sofies bangs are a mess now....And her and Sage pull Weezies out all the time, while playing. And now Weezie is taking her own pony out and she is still in her heat cycle. I'm afraid to use bands for the fear of them breaking their coat even more...I made sure today that all nails we're filed really super smooth for them all as not to tear their coat if they take ponys out. Any thoughts on how to break them from this bad, bad habit??? Thanks so much and hugs, Lee

| Lee, Be cautious with the Summerwinds products. It made Connor and Denali both get the worst dandruff you have even seen! I think they must be allergic to petroleum products and fear that Sage may have the same reaction. Poor Connor looks like all of his skin is just peeling away!

I need a good but gentle Clarifying Shampoo to wash the oil out once a Month for them...Would the Durrstede be considered a Clarifying Shampoo??? I use it now all the time only due to the scratching...I leave the Shampoo diluted on them for 3 minutes and the Conditioner in for 10 minutes on all 5 of them every week. Any thoughts on a good Clarifying Shampoo??? Thanks for your insite and wisdom on Summerwinds. Hugs, Lee

| Thanks so much! I'll try it as soon as I have my boy. The enthusiastic reviews seem to say it is the best, thanks, great help to describe in detail how you do it. But how you keep the coat clean? Lots of bathing? Or do you keep them in suits? How much bathing can a Yorkie coat stand? |

| Lee, you might try 15:1 Clarifying Shampoo and the Coat Handler conditioner or the #1 All Systems products, I like both. |

It's something that we here take something such as a Scrunchie for granted (I couldn't live without them with my daughters or my Yorkies ) and don't even realize that there are other people out there who don't know what they are. They are like hair bands or rubber bands...But made of terry cloth...and there is some made of cloth....Ladies, little girls and teens wear them all the time... My little and older girls wear the cloth Scrunchies all the time with their hair pulled back in a pony tail. They don't pull Yorkies coat out as easy as band or rubber bands do...This is what I use ONLY on my Yorkies even when Teddys coat was longer I just divided his coat up and put it "LOOSELY" in Scrunchies... The key is having them looser so they don't pull NO coat at all...This way they aren't wanting to pull them out as much...If you get one little strand of coat to tight and it pulls, then look out they will rub, pull, bite whatever they can to get them out, then there goes their coats broken...You can go look at my photos to see the Scruchines in my gals bangs. If you would like some samples let me know and I'll send you some....I have tons and can get more...I just need you to PM me your address. Hope this helps U to understand our Scruchies here better. I wish I could get samples of them... I need to go to the website and see if I can get some samples, I should of done this with the Vellus...I bought all big bottles. I could try on my Yorkies from my lines and not Sage due to Connor her daddy having reaction to it...I need something really gentle for Sage she is my hard coat to care for...Her coat breaks so very easy...I can't pull at all when I brush or comb her out...It's really hard when you have a Yorkie with a Coat such as Sages... Her snout (Nose and beard) below her eyes and her paws on top and bottom is so slow growing. But her Body coat is just now getting longer...I trimmed in between her paw pads yesterday for the 2nd time in a year...That's how slow her coat grows. Thanks for the tip...Hugs, Lee

| thanks, Lee, I think I know what you mean. I used something like that when I had long hair, ages ago... I could see on one pic how you do it, you just need 4 scrunchies for the body hair? And they stay in? Do you wrap them up over the back so they don't hang on the floor? How long are their coats? Something else: what do you do when they are in oil? You can't touch the dogs, do you keep them in a crate for how long before you wash it out? Sounds all like a lot of work but I would be more bothered about the dog's quality of life and freedom. Do you let them run free in the garden like other dogs or do you keep the scrunchies in, is it not easier to gently roll the coat into a loose fitting suit for going out and playing. Also for males so they can't soil their hair on their legs when they mark all the trees etc.? Sorry for all the stupid questions, but I would like to do it right once I have my boy and find the best solution for him and me. Did I see somewhere that you can tell the coat colour and texture from the shine in a pup's eyes? Like if they shine green in the light the coat will be silky, if they shine blue it will be thick... or vice versa??? Of course, all their eyes are really brown! thanks again for al your help. Sorry, the pics are not too clear to see how exactly you put in the scrunchies.(Cute name, by the way! And your dogs are very cute, too! |
