Rescue From Tx Needing New Home
 

Hey guys. I rescued a dog tonight - I'm not sure that she's pure yorkie as they said she was, but she was in dire need of a home. I couldn't leave her behind, but I can't really keep her either. Here's my original thread about her:

I'm asking a rehoming fee to make sure she goes somewhere that can take extra good care of her and give her LOTS of TLC... and to cover what I've spent on her.

Please let me know if anyone's interested. I'm not going to ship her, she's been through enough hell, but I'm willing to meet someone.

I haven't taken any yet, and I've already got her settled for the night. I'll try to post some tomorrow. She's shaved all over, and very fat (I'm sure from litter after litter). She has a little hair on the tip of her tail. I think she's silver and tan - not near as golden as Bogey, and maybe even a creamier color. I'll try to get pics tomorrow.

What part of Texas are you in? I, too, rescued a dog a few weeks ago and had to have her put to sleep 48 hours later. Give me more information about where you are, if you've had her vetted, etc.

I just brought her home late last night. I haven't done anything with her yet.

I just read the previous post about this little baby, and it was so sad. I am so happy you saved this little girl. How is she doing this morning? Could you please post some pics of her? Also, how big is she and how is she with the other dogs?

my aunt is in dallas. let me see if she would want a dog. how much are you asking for her? I will call my aunt as soon as i can and ask her if she is interested. i know she has been looking for a small dog. I'll let you know....

Hey girl - she's doing great this morning :) And she does wonderful with Pixie and Bogey.
Now that we're up and moving this morning, I convinced her to get out of the cage... she ran around the apartment gathering up ALL the bones and putting them in the cage. There's about 12 bones in there now. They said she's about 8 lbs... which is pretty close. Bogey is 7 and she's about the same as him. Posting pictures shortly!

I'd love to see pictures of this little angel. You did such a wonderful thing.

Ok, here's pictures of the precious little girl. Like I said, she's shaved all over and looks... well... hideous... but I bet she's a lot prettier once someone lets her fur grow back even a little. She's also fat from the babies and totally oblivious to any name. If you took her, you could name her whatever you wanted and teach it to her. She is also very, very mellow. I heard her bark one time when Pixie was having a fit - she looked at me "Ruff!" and it was more like a "make her shut up, will ya?" But she bounces around and wants to play, too. She reminds me of a puppy in a grown dog's body.

I made an appointment for 1pm this afternoon with my groomer to clean her ears, trim her nails, etc. I'll take more pics after that if she's not taken yet - I bet she looks a lot better after my groomer gets ahold of her :)

She really needs to find a home ASAP - we're over the limit on dogs in the apartment. I was REALLY looking for a nice little dog for my daughter to put a deposit on and pick up when we move home in a few weeks... Still looking for that. :rolleyes:

I just don't think this dog is right for my daughter. She's been through enough - she doesn't need to be tortured by a 6 year old now :p

I followed your story - I haven't been posting much because I'm in the middle of finals, but I had read about poor little Frankie. I think you did a noble thing for her. If you are interested in trying again with this baby, I'd be happy to meet you somewhere.

her sweet little face. im so f**king angry right now at the people who use animals as profit, shes a being a living being.

I didn't mention, as of this afternoon, I'm going to have spent about $150 on her (getting her & grooming her). If a good home wants her today, that's her fee. I'm not looking to make a profit or anything, just want to make sure she gets into a good home and get some of my expenses back in the process.
If I still have her tomorrow, I'm probably going to see about getting her in to my vet - raising her cost. Let me know if you want her before that. She needs a checkup and probably shots. She doesn't really show any signs of major problems though.

AWW she is cute!!!!! She looks a little freaked out though, but who wouldn't with all the changes that just happened. She looks yorkie to me, but its looks like they did not dock her tail. From the looks she looks like she is silver like Rocky.

i think she is soo beautiful but then again i have never in my life seen an ugly yorkie i would love to take her but i live in los angeles. how is she doing???

LOL She was rudely taken from her food to have the picture taken. She does look yorkie, just the tail confused me. I don't think I realized they were born with really long tails. I knew they docked them, but I didn't know they were born with REALLY long ones. LOL
I do think she is silver and light brown/tan... Her coloring looks a lot like Bogeys except not quite such a bold brown. Her face looks more creamygrayish like Rocky's.

She's doing great this morning. I finally had to kick her OUT of Pixie's cage to put Pixie IN her cage. That's where she eats - and her food has lots of meds in it that Bogey and this precious baby don't need to get ahold of (steroids and such). But since I kicked her out of the cage, she's really starting to open up. She's laying on the floor beside me and Bogey napping right now.

She's such a little doll. She's sitting here beside me looking at me. I just couldn't resist getting the picture.. it's a lot more "like her" than the back shot or the rude interruption to the food LOL Though it's still before her grooming... we'll be headed that way in a couple hours.

I just love her big ears. I bet when her hair grows out she will look like a different dog. I am very temped to run offer and give lots have kisses and hugs.

you mentioned she had recently had puppies. were they weaned before she was taken away? She looks full of milk. that could cause problems. You are such a sweetheart for all you are doing for this precious girl.

Oh I hope so too. Hopefully whomever her new forever mommy is will bring her to the park to play.

The way they talked, they'd sold the puppies and were "done" with her. I assume they were weaned when they sold them, but that doesn't say much. I would also assume that someone wouldn't be so cruel to a precious little yorkie. But that's apparently too much to ask. She does look full of milk though.

Shes a pretty girl, I bet once her hair grows out she will be beautiful. From all the pictures that you posted. she looks pregnant to me. her middle seems very swallon. you sure shes not prego?

Im still looking at her pictures. lol.. she looks so full. If I was you Id have a vet check her out, there may be puppys in there and well , Then you would have your daughter a puppy and a few more. lol I wonder why they shaved her so short. prob so they didnt have to mess with brushing her if they only used her for breeding. well I wish you luck in finding her a good home. who knows they might of got rid of her cause she had mated with a non Yorkie. but I would have her checked out.

LOL My husband says the same thing. They said she birthed about 7 weeks ago.... but I don't know if I believe anything they said except that she's female. But if they were using her for puppies... why would they sell her pregnant? I don't know...
I've been feeling her tummy today, and I don't feel moving or anything...
We can't keep her regardless - we're over the limit on pets. I just didn't have the heart to leave her in that situation.

Very kind of you to take her in. She is so cute!! When I first saw your pictures, I also thought that she looks pregnant. Good luck finding her a perfect home.

I just want ya'll to know that I have the best groomer ever.
This baby looks so much better. Her ears were just nasty - but they're sooo much better now. And her nails are trimmed, and she trimmed around where she was just unevenly shaved. She looks like a little dog now :) The pictures don't look much different, but I can tell a BIG difference in person.
She's also a lot happier too. She knows she got pampered I think - she's been running around wagging her tail :D
