I don't know - I'm not good enough for them I guess. I emailed and offered to volunteer for them a while back. I told them that my house had burned, so I couldn't offer to foster a dog, but that I wanted to volunteer otherwise - if they needed anything, I could try to get it, or if they needed someone for home checks or anything else. I've been an accountant for 12 years, have a marketing degree, and I'm a law student. I could do pretty much anything for them. They emailed me back and told me they didn't want my help. I replied and said something like, "I'm not asking for a dog - I've already stated that I can't take one right now. I'm just asking to help you help the yorkies..." They replied with just "No." I wasn't even asking to SEE a yorkie - I was offering to gather food, raise funds, raise awareness, anything. So no, I know they're highly praised here, but I'm not good enough for them, and I don't really want to turn this precious little girl over to snobs that don't have the dog's best interest at heart. All they've done is taken their name off the list of organizations getting donations after I start working again. I refuse to talk bad about others just because I'm mad, and for that reason, I wasn't ever going to discuss that here, and until now, I haven't. That's all I'm saying about it, issue closed.

As far as the aunt, yes, she sounds responsible and loving. That's why I don't want to rush off and send the precious little girl away before she's had a chance to respond. By now, I'm thinking the answer is no, but I really want to hear a no before making a decision I regret.

No, I didn't tell her how urgent it was. I wanted her to call back and take her because she *wanted* to, not because she felt like she had to. I want her in a home that really wants her, not one that just "will take her"...

i totally understand. my aunt definitely thinks things through and is not an impulsive kind of person. so I know she will not do something that she isn't completely sure about. I just didn't know if you expressed that to her or not.

well, I am sure that whatever is meant to be, will be. wether it is my aunt or someone else, God has a plan. I will let you know if I hear anything and I will continue to keep this girl in my prayers.

Lopsi I have helped with the Yorkie Train in the past. Just look at the "Gwen" story If you and to find a ride for your rescue you let me know and I or Someone I find will take cae of that lil Girl:) The last person I found to help took the rescue the whole way so she was not going from car to car. I Don't know if that can happen this time but We can sure try.:)

LOL, if she finds that baby a home, I do believe you'll work wonders with the "train"! I've witnessed what you can do!

Now, if we could only figure out who's really good at finding forever homes...:)

We'll see if Pepe's aunt wants her - otherwise, we'll see who DOES want her and then what it'll take to get her to them.

Another thing to consider in looking for her new home... she came from a puppy mill and is NOT fixed.

Which is another reason I can't keep her here long - Bogey is intact. And anyone who's met Bogey knows that means trouble (Shana.. Rocky's Mom...) He's the horniest horndog ever. We pull him off her constantly and often put them in different rooms. She's real good with him and just stands there most of the time though. He's got to learn that not all dogs are for humping though, and I don't know WHEN she'll be fertile... I've kept an eye on her - she's not swollen or bleeding, but my vet said after having a litter, you never know how soon it'll be.

We've been calling her "little one" or "baby" or something. Hubby suggests we call her Angel, I think it's a good idea. She's a sweet little Angel, but whoever takes her can still name her what they want.

"Angel" found a bag with a bone in it and was digging really hard trying to get to the bone. I realized what she was doing and I took the bone out of the bag (and threw the bag away) and went, "Here, Little One" and offered her the bone. Hubby was like NO! We said we're calling her Angel, remember?!
"Oh yeah... Here, Angel...." She took the bone happily - at least until Pixie stole it from her and I gave her another one :p

OMG god Khris I am in Tears right now . Angel what a perfect name.... my Daisy had one litter and the one pup that survived 4 days we named Angel. She is a sweet little Angel just like Daisy's We will Find her a Home. I promise I will Do EVERY THING To help you anyway I can.

Oh Also, if I still have her and she's headed north, I may make a trip to Wichita Falls over Mother's Day weekend (or Friday the 11th most likely)... Just a thought :D
I don't think I can sacrifice any days between now and next Thursday (the 10th) though - Not in the middle of finals. After my last final though, I can drive a bit, too.

I am for sure going to Jasper May 16-18th though.

I'll probably be unavailable for about the next 12 hours or so - at least. I'm about to round up my studying and hit the bed... I may check in first thing in the morning, but I have an exam from 9-12 tomorrow morning. So I may be pretty hard to catch until then.

Angel Update
 

She is REALLY making progress! She was running and bouncing around last night, wagging her tail. Then she went to sleep by me while I studied...
Before I went to bed, I took them all out to potty, and they all did. I told Angel since she was so good and pottied outside, she didn't have to sleep in the cage (and since I was going to be up in a couple hours anyway).
So then Pixie, Bogey, and I all went to bed, and I left Angel on the floor so she could get on the pile of blankets she likes to nap on. She ran around the bed, standing up every couple steps and looking on the bed like, "How do you get up there? Is it ok? Am I allowed up there?"
So I put her on the bed, and she curled up beside me and slept. She didn't move a muscle until I pulled her out of bed this morning to potty. So we all went out to potty, then I let the crew back in and went potty myself. When I came back into the bedroom, Angel was on the bed. She had watched Pixie climb the stairs (she has to use stairs because of her knees), and she had climbed up right after her. She's a quick learner! Then the first time she got off the bed, Bogey had jumped off, and she barrelled off right behind him, landing on her head. I guess she realized that wasn't the way to go, because next time, she followed Pixie down the stairs, nice and easy. She's not so graceful at big jumps LOL, but she is a fantastic learner. I'm shocked at how smart she is. She is doing really well.

Pepe mint, any word from the aunt yet?
