I'll say this much though - this was the best thing possible. Those people are just little angels, and they're a great match for my little Angel. I got a picture and all, too - but I don't have time right now. She's gonna be very happy :D

So happy to hear this, Angel deserves this chance...and you may still be able to see her and know that's she's being taken care of...How amazing is this?

Oh this makes me so happy for Angel and for you too. I cant wait to hear more about it and see the picture.

Ok, sorry for taking soooo long to post this! LOL

Yes, Angel's foster's mom and dad came to get her today. Just as I imagined, they are just absolute DOLLS! I think they are the perfect angels for my little Angel. And in person - OH! Just so sweet! :D

They do live nearby, and I do intend to keep in contact with them. Actually, even moreso now that I know more about them :p I think Angel's new foster dad is my new best friend LOL Turns out he's a family law attorney.... (for those who don't know, that's what I'm in law school for...)

Anyway, I can't say enough how great I think they are, and how perfect they are for Angel. I'm just thrilled the way this has turned out, and I know... I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that this is where God wants her.

OH! And yes, I told her about YT, and she got all excited and wrote down the web address. And I mentioned the DFW meetup, and she said she'd be there, when and where?! I told her we didn't have all the details yet, but that I would certainly let her know. :D

Soooo, here's a picture of Angel and her new foster family :D Aren't they just ADORABLE together?! :D :D :D

Awww They look great together. Are they keeping her or are they only keeping her until they rehome her? I hope they become a member here.

They'll be keeping her for a while at least. She's gotta get fixed and get her dental work and such. And once she's ready for adoption, who knows? Maybe they'll get to keep her afterall ;)

This is such wonderful news! Not only does Angel have a new home, but you've met some very nice people!! I do hope they join YT; I'd love to hear updates on how Angel is progressing. :)

Oh, I hope they keep her. They look so happy! It'd be great for Angel if she got to stay with them forever & didn't have to be rehomed.

Lopsi, did the YTNR couple have other yorkies?, just curious....Angel does look very happy with them...many of us "flunk Foster 101" (adopting your foster yorkie), so don't be surprised if they keep her.

We screen our adoptive homes too, and I'm sure it has happened when we've denied adoption to someone who has applied. I've adopted yorkies to folks with children so I don't know that would automatically disqualify someone.
Of course, yorkied that have been abused would never be given to a home with kids.

Maybe we can get some extra volunteers for our group? You don't have to foster, we have other ways to help.

Yes, I would absolutely love to help, but I have a 5 year old who's coming home tomorrow, so hands-on with a yorkie is probably not right for us. Especially the ones in rescues that don't need to be exposed to a 5 year old's torture ;)
Otherwise, I need to get some other stuff tied up, and when I get some time, yes I definitely want to do something to help out. But we gotta do things like get our house back, move home, etc.

Woops! I forgot to answer the first question! Yes, they have other dogs, I didn't ask specifics on them though. They did mention that Angel would learn to use the doggie door if she watched their dogs and that she can't sleep on their bed on account of their dogs. I don't know how many or even that they are yorkies, but I know there's more dogs in the picture somewhere :p

But really, I think that's best for Angel - she does sooo good with other dogs. It's like it brings out this playful side of her. And she'll jump around on the floor and play with Pixie for hours.... I think she's still got some puppy left in her afterall, and other dogs help bring out the inner puppy ;)

I just read this and once again for the third time today bawling my eyes out about things I have read on YT. I literally gave myself a black eye from wiping my eyes so much in the last two days. First the Papi story, then the "how could you" thread and now this. I am so glad Angel found a new home. I bet she never had the chance to ever be just a puppy and play and that is why she likes playing with the other dogs so much. I hope she gets to stay there forever and live the life she deserves and surely has earned.

Pass the kleenex...I never dreamed that I would become so attached to the people and yorkies here on YT, I really do become an emotional wreck sometimes worrying about everybodies babies. Luckily my hubby knows and understands me, he's gotten to know some of the stories and feels as bad as I do that I can't help them all!!! But back to Angel and the loving hearts of the foster couple that was willing to give her the chance of a lifetime, and if it wasn't for Lopsi taking her in, it would have never happened. May God bless you and them for being there for that little "Angel"!!!

I am sooooooooooooooooooo happy she found a foster home...I am sure she will be a keeper!! She looks so cute with her bandana around her neck...her foster look like amazing people and they look so delighted with Angel!!

I called to check on Angel today. She is really getting along great. They absolutely adore her!
She has already learned about the doggy door and happily trots herself in and out. They laid down a nice cozy bed on the floor, and she slept there without fuss. And when she comes in, she goes to her nice little bed :) She is doing really well and everyone seems to be happy :D

Yes, we foster the yorkies in our homes...no cages..(they may be crated at night till they get acclimated with the family or during travel)..and are treated as family....

when they need us, we're there for them and get the medical attention and care they deserve.

I know you will miss her, Lopsi...I still miss every foster yorkie I've ever had...but I know they went to wonderful homes..yes, I've kept one for myself!...

I contact YTNR when I began my rescue search after Sophie died. They answered my email the next day, and ended up conversing with the President of the organization. Wonderful people and Charlie was adopted from United Yorkie Rescue. His foster mom was absolutely the most loving woman and he thrived in her home with the other pups.

I haven't been on here the last couple days (got my daughter!) and I don't really have any news on Angel, but hey, no news is good news, right?!
I didn't call yesterday because I don't want to drive them totally nuts :p
But I may call today just because it's Sunday and I have free minutes LOL
Then I'll probably lay off for the week and maybe call next weekend.

i am just reading up on this. I am soooooooooo happy she is in a great home. I do hope they end up keeping her. they sound so wonderful. and I bet she is loving the doggie door :) I am sure she is just in doggy heaven right now. I am so happy for her!!!! but I bet you miss her :( well...it is for the best and I am so glad you are so comfortable with them...and that they are so close to you!! what a blessing!!

They are really a blessing. We got attached to her (I hate to admit it, but it's true), and I just knew that we were going to be heartbroken when she left... but we weren't. We were sooo happy with where she went that we were excited for her. Couldn't be better :D We have yet to shed a tear over her now, and her leaving us is when we'd be most likely to do so.

Wow!! I hadn't checked this thread for awhile, and see now that I've sure missed alot! I'm so happy Angel is in such a great foster home:) . You really are an angel as well for saving her like you did.
