Nowhere on the City of Chicago site does it say that a dog would be deemed to not be given back to the owners because of neglect from a random vet. This is just ridiculous to say the least! You posted this thread Dec 8 and it's only Dec 10th! You need to contact the proper department of the City of Chicago and TURN THIS DOG OVER! It is not yours or your "friends" to keep! He has an owner and you have made NO EFFORT in the past two days to locate the owner. My husband is in that area of Chicago on a daily basis and looked for your flyer. They are NONEXISTENT!

I have called all of the above shelters and there have been no calls reporting a found Yorkie! Turn the dog over today and allow him to go home where he belongs. This is Christmas and you are depriving a family of their pet by keeping him. I'm just beyond upset this happens and it's not the first time either!

I think we need to peruse the "LOST PUP" postings in the Chicagoland area too. Maybe We, at YT, can get this dog back home to his rightful owners!! We have his pic now, thanks OP

I've been looking to see if anything showed up on Craiglist or through local rescue. This is beyond sad.

I just found this great Facebook page for the Chicago area. You can list the dog there to try to reunite him with his family.

I was totally out of control when Bogey, Doodlebug and Pebbles got out of the yard. It was the worst feeling I have ever had and cannot imagine if honest people wouldn't have called to return them.

I remember. The panic was palpable in your posts Sugar went missing once for 10 minutes. I about had a panic attack!

The owners did come forward, but the police didnt release the dog to them. Im not sure of all the details, but with the vet report along with some other type of report, it was considered animal neglect from the markings and wounds on the dog.

So my friend decided to keep this little guy. He has a new bestie. A Maltese named Boogieman.

I don't buy it for a second. If the police turned the case over to AC because they considered it to be a case of neglect and or abuse, the dog would have been taken by AC and then adopted out through the proper channels. It's not a matter of finders keepers.

I don't know what I would do. I think I would be completely hysterical. When she ran off after the squirrel and I couldn't get her to return I was crying my eyes out. And then crying in pain after climbing a barb wire fence. I really think I would totally lose it. And I can't even begin to think how it must be to have your baby taken.

Wondering if they are dead or alive.....fed or suffering.....warm or shivering.....loved or abused..........I would be INSANE with worry!!

Oh goodness. The owners must be worried sick.. this dog doesn't look abused at all.. I know Max got out of the fence once and and I didn't know where he was for about 5 minutes... but those minutes felt like hours... If I wouldn't have found Max I probably would have flipped over every HOUSE/BUILDING (not sure how I was going to do that) until I found him. I don't know if you're lying or if you're friend is lying to you... but someone is not telling the truth, and this poor baby should be returned home ASAP.

I almost had a panic attack when my four got out of the gate and were missing for 15 minutes, fortunately they had run to the pool area. I would be sick and probaly hospitalized if they were missing for days. Praying this baby finds his real mommy soon.
