| Sending prayers for Gabby that the medication kills both infections and does no harm to sweet Gabby. Sending hugs and best wishes.

| My vet is exploring another medication. She wants to speak with the internal med people at Texas A&M before making a final decision on the treatment plan. She is concerned about the Amikacin and the side effects and wants to make sure that is our only option. So, nothing will be done before Monday.

| I forgot to update. My vet spoke with one of the Internal Med vets at A&M and they suggested an xray to make sure that bladder stones were not present. She also called a different lab to see if they could do a sensitivity test that would include Nitrofurantoin and they can. So, an xray was done on Monday and was negative. She had a cysto and the urine was sent to the other lab. So, we are still playing the waiting game. I am hopeful that we will get to the bottom of this soon...I hate that she has this awful UTI.

| Good news for Gabby!!! My vet just called to give me the results of the urine culture and there is NO MRSA!! My first thought was "who do I believe"" .. but as I digested this information it occurred to me that IF it was there it would have shown up. My guess is there was a cross contamination in the first lab. I am horrified when I think of where our conversation was going last week. The plan now is for her to start on Nitrofurantoin q8 for 2 weeks or longer...all will depend on urine c&s coming up negative. We will test her at 2 weeks to see how it is going. Doing a Happy Dance here!! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

| I hear that! My vet said the same thing. I am still concerned, but honestly I don't see how they could miss it if it was there. Had to be an error in the first one.

| I'll be thinking of Gabbers, I'm still remembering the way she was so responsive when we had cupcakes at the show! Her little face and nose were the cutest thing ever. She has the heart and determination of a warrior, anyone that gets to meet her can see that. So many people care about her I know she feels the love.
