Thanks for the update. Hope all goes well. |
1 Attachment(s) Here is the latest update! The procedure went well. We will not know the results for at least 3 weeks when she goes back for a follow up; but the opthamologist feels it will go well. Attaching a pic of her on the way home. Linda |
The poor little pup! The eye looks so sore. I hope the procedure takes! She is a little cutie; it's great she is getting the help she needs. |

I just noticed this thread! LJ and I had been PMing about expressing Gabby, before the suspension. I had been wondering how that was going, but I'm hoping she got the hang of it now! Thanks for the updates! I have been thinking of them! |
Thank you, Steve. I wish that little girl nothing but the best in this world. We already know she's with the best person in the world. She looks so happy in that picture.:) |

Thank you so much for the update, Steve. I've been out of town, but didn't stop thinking of, or praying for Gabby. She looks good, except her poor little eye looks sore. God bless her, and God bless Linda, for her love & compassion! Sheila |
What a sweetie! ((hugs)) to Gabby. Thanks for updating us Steve. |
Gabby is such a trooper. These little ones can teach us humans a lot. No matter the adversity, they carry on and even smile as Gabby is doing in the picture. Thank LadyJane for caring for this baby. Can't wait for you to return. Thank you Steve for the updates. Maximo sends well wishes to Gabby. We pray she continues to improve and that she has the best possible outcome. We are grateful that she now has the best possible care. |
Gabby is doing fine! I believe the med is working...her eye does look a bit less swollen. She goes back in two weeks to see the opthamologist. She had a terrible weekend last week with her bowels again. I had her evaluated again by the vet...lab results all normal. We are thinking it is stress colitis. It also could be from her not eliminating fully since I do have to express her bowels; but there is no bacterial overgrowth so not sure it is that. She is on probiotics just in case. For now I have stopped physical therapy. The week before it happened she was all over the house and went to PT three times. I am thinking it may have been too much. She has not tried to walk since. :( The past two days she did stand for a few minutes, so hopefully she is feeling better again. It really is trial and error right now. |
Hugs to you and Gabby! Thank you for taking such good care of her. |
Thank you! :) She makes it easy...she is an absolute sweetheart!! :) |

I have a feeling that a slower pace might work better for her. |
It is just beautiful the way you are with Gabby and all of your pups. You have given Gabby the medical care and strength to get better. You accept her for who she is, and treat her with such compassion and love. Gabby looks so great and happy with you. Welcome back! |

Even a slower pace is a miracle for this little girl. I think taking her from room to room and out in the yard to hang out with you is some of the best therapy you can give her. You give her a reason to live. |
Gabby went to the opthamologist today and got a good report! The pressure in the eye has indeed dropped since that procedure!!! So, that means, no enucliation. I am SO relieved! Poor baby shook when they were examining her...I guess she thought she was staying there again. As soon as she was back in my arms, she was fine! :) She is doing well overall. No more bowel issues....I have been logging everything for the past 3 weeks...so far so good! I think that perhaps it was the PT. It may have been just a bit too much for her. Going to watch and log a bit longer. One thing I have noticed that is different. She used to sleep on her tummy....now she often sleeps on one side or the other. I honestly think she is more relaxed these days. I don't know what it is....it is just the way it stood out to me. She would sleep on her back and jump up to check on things....now she just lies there...might open her eyes, but does not jump up. She is a love. :) |
Linda, that is such wonderful news about Gabby's eye! I don't blame her for shaking, she's had enough of that place. It does sound like the PT was too much for her. I'm so glad to read that she is feeling more relaxed. I know why she's more relaxed...the love & care you have given her. God Bless you, Linda. Sheila |
Linda, that's outstanding! Thank you for the Update coming. A donation will be forth coming to her in a week. |
You guys are so awesome! Thank you for loving Gabby! :) |
Linda, that is such great news that we all needed to hear! Gabby has been through so much, it is wonderful that she has been doing better, the poor dear needed a break. Still sending prayers for Gabby. |
