I just love how sweet they always are when I have one that is not feeling well. We hear how dogs will hide pain so as not to be a victim. That sends a message that they will be victims and clearly that is not always true. Did anyone see the video of the dog in Japan that refused to leave his sick buddy? I sat crying as I watched it. I need to go find that! |

That picture is just so very touching. Pure sweetness.:) They love you so much. They just want to be close to you, because they feel safe. I saw that video of the two dogs in Japan, too. It really touched a special place in my heart. I hope they are together again now that the one has been treated. I watched that video so many times that I lost count. |

The picture of the pups in the crate with Gabby is precious. I am still praying that Gabby will come along. We do have to remember that it could have been years since she used all those muscles that she is using now. No wonder she is so tired. She is going to walk for you...just wait and see:D |

I see the HYR is only a few hundred dollars from your $4,000.00 goal to help the pups. I will send in a donation next week. Basil and Carlo have done a nice job the past few weeks of emptying my Checkbook, but we want to help. I know others will too! |
Oh, Steve, you have had SO much on your plate! Just the fact you worry about the YHR pups is so very sweet of you! Gabby is doing fairly well in PT. She is walking on the treadmill with assistance. This past Saturday while I was in the back yard, she got up and walked about 4 feet. I honestly did not see it happen, but I turned around and she was 4 feet from where she had been sitting...and she was standing on all fours! :) One of the therapists took a short clip of her with his cell phone today so I could see it....I am sorry I did not have him send it to me. It is pretty amazing! She still does not stand much at home or use those legs, but I am beginning to think she may soon. :) |

I've had a thought rolling around in my head for a few months... I know that the membership looks forward to the GE, however many times a year that occurs...but, I wonder if the membership would forego it one time, donate what they would have spent to a rescue.....My thought is these pups that are owned by great people have the everyday comforts...why not help other pups not so fortunate. I think I'll run it past Ann and Admin...maybe a poll asking the membership what they thought of it. |

Gabby had another good day at PT. She does well on the treadmill but does not even try to walk at home. I asked the therapist if perhaps it is because now she has gotten used to barking at me when she wants something. She said that may be...going to give her another week and if she still is not trying, we might try a little tough love. Here is a short video from today. I apologize as it is sideways, but it was taken with an Iphone and that is how they come out. You can see they have her on a block...that is to get her to hold herself up with her hind legs. They stimulate her tail to get her to walk. Pretty amazing stuff. |
