Being at my house was great for Mindy to recover and I really think she enjoyed being here . We helped Karla with the vet costs , because it was something we could do for Mindy.The person that Karla got Mindy from totally gave bad information about her , some things we will never know .
I was hoping she would be able to stay with us forever but I had to put Sunshine first . I even got another opinion from our vet about their personalities and she thought it best for them not to be together .
BTW Sunshine came very close to outliving me last year , he helped me recover .

I commend you for giving it your best shot with Mindy and helping Karla get her this far. It takes a big heart to help and also common sense when you know it isn't the right placement for Mindy or Sunshine, too.

So many times pet owners who adopt will hate to have to admit after the fact that it wasn't the right fit after all and wait until all are miserable and then surrender back to a rescue.

Hat's off to you...;)

Well the couple that was interested in Mindy came over on Tuesday. I do not feel it was a good match. They were nice enough but The man kept pushing himself on Mindy. The woman was 66 and I am not sure how old the man was. But i decided against them.

I have a lady coming this evening who is single (divorced) age 52 and works for Boeing for 30 years. Very nice lady. So we shall see how this visit goes. I have turned down about 3 or 4 other possible homes.

So hoping this one coming today will be the right home for her. Will update again tomorrow..

Good luck! I hope this lady is the one . :thumbup: Again, I think so highly of you for doing the right thing where Mindy is concerned. Wish there were more people like you out there :)

I am placing Mindy with a wonderful woman who is divorced, lives alone and is 52. She is not retired, and is just a great match for Mindy. Mindy liked her and she loved Mindy. Mindy is going to be very well loved I truly feel it this time. I did not charge her any adoption fee since all her vetting had already been paid. Instead she will be donating to a yorkie rescue.

Thanks everyone.. Mindy went home to her last night, so I will be excited and anxious for an update later one this evening. The woman works swing shift at Boeing so she is basically on my schedule..hehe :D

Congratulations! I am so happy for you and for little Mindy! You spent a lot of time worrying about finding the right home for her. :)

That was very nice of you and Mindy's new mom to think of rescue. :)

Yeah!! Thanks:) I am feeling pretty happy right now myself. If 2 ever needed each other it is these 2. This lady has been through hell and back because of her controlling ex.. Poor woman lost 75% of her hair during the divorce and in the end he refused to let her have any of the 3 cats they owned (he wouldn't allow her to have a dog)..

I actually met with 3 different prospects with others interested. I felt 3 was enough, especially after I met This lady..

I've been following this story and felt so bad for both of you.
I know you were trying your best to find the perfect home for your girl.

Thank you Gail:) yes it is her first dog in over 25 years so it's a good fit since she doesn't have to go through all the puppy training;)

Yeah she met her here first so she could see how she is in this environment, then I checked all her references (vet from when she had cats), then I drove Mindy up to her home for a visit, she stayed there of course. And I am anxiously waiting for an update now..LOL...
