Lissette & Linda--- Let me know what I can do. UGH!!!! This pisses me OFF!!! Precious boy! |
That poor poor baby. I hope someone some where can take him in. there are so so many that are abused. but there are some thats not. coming from someone who spent most of her life rescuing animals. yes me and my DH have took in over 300 animals . some healthy but many many in bad shape. some we will never know the story behind them what they went through. its all so very sad. all we can do is save them and help them to find the care and love that they need and deserve. No one really knows how this poor dog stood at the post office with a sign on him. for if they took the time to put a sign on him maybe just maybe they loved him all the same but could not help him I say this because Ive seen it happen many times. with the economy the way it is many are losing their homes. many are unable to now care for their beloved animals. There was an old man who loved his dog with all his heart. being in his 90's and homeless his self he decided to find his poor old dog a better place. no shelter would take him in, all full. the man had hardly no food for his beloved dog friend hardly any for him self. so he did what he thought would be best for his dog. he tied it up to the gate of the shelter. and maybe hoped and prayed his dog would get a little water a little food to feed his thin old bones. he did not know that poor old soul would grieve for him. would wait for him. and that's just what he did. he got lose and waited for his owner to come back . running away from the people who tried to help him. until he was hit by a car. was this right for this old man to leave this poor dog NO . but he thought he was doing what was best trying to give him a chance. I felt so sorry for that old dog. and my heart ached for the old man who prob saw the paper that week saying thanks to the old man who left your dog tied to the shelter gate for he was hit by a car. I know if that old man read that his heart must of broke for that poor old dog. |
I am fairly certain I have a place for this little guy. When I know for certain and all of the details are ironed out, I will update! :) |

You know what I say about the person that said you were burned out? Hit the ignore button girl! They are obviously not worth your time anyway! I know what you do I have seen it first hand and for those who would judge, take a lloong look at yourself first! You might see a little room for improvment! I know I do! Please keep us up to date about this poor little man, and anything he might need. |

Ok....all is arranged...almost. I am still not sure about the transport from the shelter to Baton Rouge...it is only a 30 minute drive each way and I will know if I have someone later today. Other than that, I have transportation arranged all of the way here! He is going to a friend of mine. I have worked with her before...she does independent rescue and I have told her that she can vet him on her own or she can foster for YHR. Either way, if anyone wants to help with his care, I will be happy to let you know once we know. She wants to wait and see if he is heartworm positive. The shelter could not test until Monday and I did not want him to sit there for that because then he would have to stay in that shelter until next weekend. :( If she does it on her own, I will let you all know to PM me and I can give you the vet's information. If he ends up a YHR foster, yes, he will have a Paypal button for donations. Bless all of you for all your offers of help and your thoughts and prayers. This has worked out SO quickly and SO well that I know it was meant to be! Some of you have PM'd me...and I thank you as well. Always restores my faith to see so many wonderful people who really love these kids. :):):) |

But on the bright side laws have changed and times have changed along with them. We have the internet as a tool to help teach those that have questions and help correct wrong ideas. Also the youth of america can teach the older generations that might not have access to this vast technology. It might be sad that someone would tie a dog to something and leave it to possibily starve, but is is certinaly wrong! I wouldn't post that it is ever the right or only thing to do, but that is just me. |

I did not see that post, but do now; and I totally agree with you on that one Megan! Thank you! |
Thanks, Elaine, for your kind words and for always looking out for the yorkies! I have seen so many wonderful posts by you trying to help and to educate! Quote:

I am so happy for Sonny (hehe I named him this because all I could see was a big smile on his face even with everything done to him) as he really touched my heart. I know he is going to be one of those very special little dudes and I hope that we can follow his life...He is just to beautiful in his soul. |
This is wonderful news! So happy this little guy has a new chance at life! |

Never mind...hahahhah we all know what old age can do to a person...uh...no only SOME of us do. :D You guys are embarrassing me....you all are wonderful to the pups! And..on the same page.,...love you all! We will have updates on Sonny...I am going to suggest she name him that, but cannot make her do it..hah! Even if he ends up not being a YHR pup, I will have frequent updates. He is going to an ultra wonderful person!! |

Yes it was sad. and times haven't changed much sense this happened. wasn't long ago. he had no one to help him. no Internet, it was said that he was homeless, no food. so his dog was already starving. that dog was all he had. he thought he was doing some thing better for his dog. I wasn't saying if it was right or wrong. I was saying maybe that's what happened with this dog, some how it got burned and maybe the owners though someone would come along and help it, maybe that's why it had a sign on it. I'm glad this dog is getting the help it needs that's all that matters. |
This is really great news! For some reason I am not "subscribed" to this thread  Not sure what that is all about.............. Sunny~I really like that name :D I'm so glad that you were able to find him a foster home. I will be praying that his heartworm come back NEGATIVE. Poor guy has enough to deal with he does not need to go through treatment for that as well. I would also like to thank all of the people that asked how they can help with his care! Once again YTer rule!!!!!:animal36 |
That is such great news. If there is anything we can do over here in the NE for him, let us know. |
Linda, are you getting ready for your trip tomorrow. Let us know how Sunny does and please send us pics. |
You must be so very excited to get your new boyfriend ... even if it is for one night...we all want to know all the details once you get home..:) |
I can't tell you how much I appreciate all the work you rescuers do. I'm really frightened for the future, for it just seems like rescues are filling up, and I wonder if some people are taking more dogs then they really want just because there's little choice. This is one of the reasons I get upset about people breeding indiscriminately. Good breeders seem to be cutting back but the byb's are forging ahead, try to earn a little extra spending cash. I wish all breeders would feel responsible for the future lives of every pup they produce, and every pup, their pups produce, for it just seems that most byb's encourage other byb's to breed. I believe that unless you really love the breed, and really have something to offer the breed, you should not be breeding. |

Everyone has stretched a bit...we have had to...but, there is a time that we have to say no. Yes, they do keep pumping them out...just ludicrous. I honestly think some are probably breeding more and selling for less. The good breeders already know that people cannot afford now, so they cut back. The others...well hey...just drop the prices and breed more. That is what I am thinking. Of course it is just my little opinion. Whatever it is...it is just beyond disgusting any more. The gal who is taking the one that I am getting tomorrow is also taking a little female from a shelter in Houston...and there is another one in a shelter here closer to me. :( I just got that email tonight. I seriously don\'t know what is going to happen here in TX...it just seems to get worse each day. |
