Thanks Dana and Thanks Linda for all the work you have done. I'm glad Cassie is doing well. She is a beauty... |
This is wonderful!! If only we had a world full of people like you all!! |
So, tonight I was rubbing Cassies belly (she was on her back) and one of the puppies came to check her out. I didnt have them down playing with each other, I was holding her the whole time. She started growling and snapping at my 2 babies. Baxter and Bayleigh didn't know what to think, they just jumped backwards. Anyway, just wondering how to introduce them. It is obvious just sitting them down to play is NOT going to work. Does this go away? I want them to be able to mingle and roam the house when they are potty trained etc. I am confused and don't know the best way to handle this one. When she started growling it made them jealous and they went to barking. I know she is in a new place. I am hoping this will be something that goes away in time. Suggestions?? |
When you introduce new pups it is best to do it in a neutral area. I usually take them out to my backyard. If you are involved and holding one, it is going to cause problems. They normally work things out fairly quickly! They need time to sniff each other's butts...sounds gross, but it is true. That is the way they do things! |
Update: Cassie was transported by ManolosMom to Centerville (halfway point between Dallas and Houston) this morning where she met my son and daughter-in-law. They are bringing her to my home and should arrive shortly. I will take pics later on and post them! Thank you so much to BaxtersMommy and ManolosMom for all they have done to save this darling pupster! You are both angels!! |

She is so beautiful. :) We worked on her all week with my pups, the last 2 days she was perfect and they were all playing. I am glad she got settled in OK. :D We already miss her. :( But, I know she will be well taken care of. Thanks Linda! |
OMG, Linda she looks so happy. I'm going to miss her and I know Baxtesmomma is going to miss her too. What a sweetheart. I cant believe the Pound told Baxtersmomma, "You dont want her, she is sick with cancer." She is going to be just fine. Thanks for posting this and please keep us updated. Lissette |

Oh, thank you! I shudder to think where she might have ended up if not for you. She is a character....just walked in and made herself at home like she has always been here! |

That is so sad. I have seen people say this about mammary tumors and the fact is that 50% of them are benign. Even if cancerous, if caught early, they can be treated successfully. |

Oh, and she loves her blankie that Auntie Lissette gave her! :) |
She is a great baby. Someone will be super blessed with this girl. Please let me know how her surgeries go. Is it this week? |

Not sure yet....will let you know! Definitely soon, though. |
Not sure who sent the toy with her.....Isabella has been dragging it all over the place!! :D |

I called the shelter and the little boy has been adopted. |
What a great step closer to a happy ending for Cassie and the little boy. Her pictures are great, after her surgery she will be home sweet home in no time. |

Cassie is now Fiona :D and will be spayed, have her mammary tumor removed and a dental next week. She will then have a few weeks of recovery time before beginning heartworm treatment. |
Hoping the best for her! |

She said she sends you and your hubby lots of yorkie kisses for saving her! :) |
Linda, I'm so glad you have Fiona...I see you have posted her pic on Yorkie Haven website. She has so many medical needs. I will get with some friends to help. What do you need from us? Poor thing. She is such a giving little girl that just wants a home. |
Wow, this is one of the best rescue stories I have read on here. You three ladies are just amazing and truely some of God's angels right here on earth! I am so glad to hear she is doing well and both dogs were able to be saved! |

First and foremost....prayers. Poor little darling had her vacs yesterday and was not well today. She actually screamed out loud when I picked her up....I seriously could not touch her. I had another do that recently, so I was not as alarmed as I was with the other. I had never had a pup do that. Gave her some Benadryl and put her on my bed...she slept all day long. She is now back to herself and walking around like nothing happened. I am not looking forward to all that she has to go through...very scary when they are delicate like that. And....thank you for spreading the word. She definitely is going to be a bit pricey. Oh...someone contacted me tonight about the mill pups up by you. Trying to network and see what we can do to help some of them. Foster homes are SO hard to come by. :( |
I will spread the word about Fionas needing a helping hand with her medical treatment. And yes, I know with the shortage of Foster Homes many have no place to go and end up being euthinized. We need to start a thread about the shortage of Foster Homes.. |

We could, but so many want to help and then do not realize what they are getting themselves into. |
