| What does it take to Foster? I always read the rescue section and my 2 babies are a rescue and a rehome. The comment was made that there are never enough foster homes. I wanted to know what qualifications etc would make someone able to provide a good foster home. I would be interested in helping out, but I do work during the day 5 days a week though I come home at lunch. So, do you need to be a stay or work at home mommy to foster? What do rescues look for, require, and desire in a foster home? Just curious....

| I am so glad you started this Thread. I'm sure Ladyjane will give you all the info you will need. I'm hoping others all around the country will step up and help foster. I know Ladyjane is full and needs Fosters so that we can get these babies to a safe place. I use to think, Oh the shelters will not euthinize these babies, WRONG, they will and they do it everyday. I challenge each of you to also check out your local shelter and pound daily and see for yourself. Please take a look at Yorkie Haven Resue website and lend a hand. I know when I got my Scottie from a rescue they checked out my vet records for shots and dental and they came to my home. Last edited by manolos mom; 08-13-2009 at 09:09 AM. |

| You really need to check with the rescue's in your area because everyone of them have different requirements....all rescue's are different. I wish you luck

| Actually I was told I was perfect foster material except that I have small children. I think that should be taken in a case by case.... |
