Everyone please keep Fiona in your thoughts and prayers. Tomorrow she is having her surgery for the mammary tumor and also being spayed. Here are a couple of new pics of her that I took this evening.

The surgery was today! She came through it all just fine. She was spayed, had the mammary tumor removed and had a dental. She did lose 4 teeth. I will be picking her up at 5:00 PM

She is fine ... resting quietly right now. Poor little baby. I almost cried when I saw her incisions, especially the one on her chest. I will try to get pics when I can, but I don't want to put her through any movement right now.
Thank you so much for caring about her!! She did not deserve this...makes me sick. I have been noticing lately how timid she really is. I was trying to take pics of her last night and my Pippi and Armani kept jumping up on the sofa in front of her...I told them to get down and she jumped off of the sofa and ran with her tail tucked. She has also belly crawled to me a couple of times. Heaven only knows what someone must have done to her.
My vet said that her uterus had some scarring that looked like she might have had a c-section in the past. I honestly don't know why someone would not have spayed her immediately after that! Poor thing....to think they kept her intact to have more puppies after a bad delivery.
After this recovery, she will have to undergo heartworm treatment.
She is going to have a life of nothing but pure pampering from here on out...I have made her that promise. Poor little baby....whoever did this to her will someday pay a price....evil to treat a living being in such a manner. Makes me so mad.

Bless her heart. So glad she made it through OK. She has such a tender spirit & is so fragile. Glad to know she is doing well. I hope the next few days are comfortable for her. Glad she got her dental, I couldn't believe all the fractured teeth in the front. I just imagined the back ones (which I couldnt see). Van and I are sitting here thinking about Fiona. How is she doing? How has she been since her surgery. I hope her week of healing is going well so far.

The first couple of days were a bit rough, but I kept her medicated actually until today. She is running around now like nothing ever happened!

Good news for Fiona!
Her biopsy came back and the tumor was BENIGN; and the type that it was has a low chance of recurrance!

She probably will not start hw treatment for a couple of months. It is recommended that Heartgard be given for 1 - 3 months prior to beginning treatment.
She needs a rest anyway!

It has been crazy lately. Gizmo had his bladder surgery today. I hope this is the last for him with those stones...poor baby. First we find out he is going blind, then this. And then, Ozzy breaks my heart daily.
And that is only my fosters. So many out there...in our group and in others.
But..somehow it all works out. You have been so very good to the Haven fosters as have many other YTers. :)
No rescue could help these kids without wonderful people like you!

Your so right, she's certainly does need a rest.
I know it's a tough treatment to go threw and I will
be praying for this little girl. Thanks to special people
like yourself and other's on this board, precious little
ones can get their chance in life.
