| I need HELP PLEASE I have a horrible story to tell. And to be honest I don't know yet what breeds are involved. But I need to put out a plea for possible help. My husband and I have been a members of an animal rescue for about a year. However, myself and 4 other members have noticed some problems with the rescue we have been working with, and decided last week to pull out and form our own rescue. Some issues had come to our attention that we weren't comfortable with. On Sunday, we met officially for the first time. We all went to bed Sunday night pleased with our progress. This morning, we awoke to a NIGHTMARE! It seems that our President authorized the killing of about 28 dogs using rat poison. And another member and her son carried it out. WE ARE APPALLED!!! So now we have moved to fast forward trying to get ready to handle what is about to take place! This creates an issue with a large number (in access of 100, perhaps as many as 150)of dogs that may need to be ceased from the property where the 28 were killed, and rescue homes that were involved. We aren't sure just what is about to happen, but we know that as a brand new rescue, we are not going to be capable of handling this number of animals alone. If anyone knows of a rescue that might be willing to help, please contact us at threeriversanimalrescue@gmail.com. Any advise would also be appreciated!!!

| OMG, that's just horrible what they did. In your state is there any rules that may have been broken with them killing the dogs that way? God Bless you for taking the other dogs and getting them away from such horrible people that thinly disguise themselves as a rescue. I'm sorry I don't have any advise for you. Maybe look on PetFinder to see about other rescues in your area to contact. Best Wishes and Good Luck.

Donating YT 10K Club Member | I would be fairly certain that rescue broke laws killing animals using that method...as a matter of fact...using more humane method by injection is illegal unless administered by a licensed vet. I'd report them and have the authorities involved...who would certainly help rescue the surviving animals.

| I am so very sorry for you. How terrible to be working with a group that is chartered to help animals who have individuals who are cold hearted killers. I would move very quietly, quickly, carefully, and methodically and get proof positive that the dogs were killed - pictures would be the best, but the location the dogs were buried or disposed of would probably work. Be sure that the information you have is 100% true and not just a "he said, she said". I say this because if all you have is someone's word for it, then it might be hard to prove. I am not a legal expert, but I feel certain that laws have been broken - and in order to seize the remaining dogs and prosecute the human monsters responsible for this outrage, you will need to have legally admissable evidence. Not only that if these people get an idea that you know what is going on, no telling what will happen to the remaining dogs. Good luck to you! |

| In Texas it is illegal to intentionally poison an animal (§ 42.092. Cruelty to Nonlivestock Animals). You need to contact Animal Control immediately. They will impound the remaining dogs and place them into shelters. |

| Could you try to bring it to the attention of the media and maybe this will bring an response from the public as well as the rescues out there? This is so sad and awful. If poison is legal, it very, very sad.

| Ugh, I am sick to my stomach. I'm glad you and the few others had the courage, not to mention morals, to pull away from this so-called "rescue". Good luck!

| Poor dogs!!!! I would take a guess, but I am almost 100% sure that using rat poison to put them to death is against the law. But as most of us know, it is a slap on the hand for most offenders!!! But I would certainly contact the ASPCA and the media to inform them of what you know. Very sad indeed!!!
