| Puppy playpen So I am a mess over this. I need to put my 3.4 lb, 5 month old yorkie in a playpen while Im at work but everyone keeps telling me "oh my puppy can climb out of that" or "she jumped it" or even worse "she got stuck in it after biting through it!" Any ideas on what to buy or use?? Thanks Lauren |

| A lot of people use playpens on here. I'm sure they'll be able to help you.

I use the Seabreeze ones for travel. Central Metal 3x3s I use for a whelping pen. Placing rubber interlocking floors on them for sure footing and lining them with washable piddle pads. The regular x-pen types I use for everyday....lining the bottoms with interlocking rubber flooring purchased from WalMart in their fitness area. I started putting tops on them, when one of my boys use to climb out and injured hisself.

| The problem is she gets into everything. so the kitchen or bathroom would be trouble. i have a little hallway that would be great but it's soooo hot that im not sure a fan would even work |

| Make sure she dosen't have a collar on. I use an ex-pen and my little girl climbed it and got her collar stuck on the top of it and was hanging herself. Thank goodness my son saw her and saved her. I never have a collar on when she is in the pen any more. |

| You can go the inexpensive way with an expen from petedge. Attach it to the front of a wire crate (leaving the crate on the outside of the fence so as not to take up room on the inside and leave tie the crate door open so it doesn't get shut accidently). Put a blanket over the crate to keep the draft out and to make it den like. Put a wee-wee pad at the opposite end and attach a water dish to the side of the pen so the puppy can't tip it over while playing. Give the puppy a nylabone chew and a toy without a squeeker or anything it can take off and choke on. Leave the TV on animal planet or put the radio on a station that plays instrumential music. Don't leave the puppy in that pen for more than three hours at a time though. You should have someone who can take the puppy out to play and potty throughout the day, or they will have behavior issues. They are social animals and need to be with another dog or person all the time. If you think the puppy may be able to climb out, then just put a sheet over the top of the expen. This usually stops them from climbing. |

| I have a dog gate, AUbrey eventually learned how to climb over it, but I raised it up a little, and didn't give him any running room, so thats what I use. I don't really have room for a playpen. |

| I use this play pen for my 3 month old puppy http://www.petco.com/product/102107/...o-Pet-Pen.aspx. He can't climb over it nor get stuck, it's portable, it has a removable waterproof bottom that can be cleaned incase he potties in it but he doesn't, you can unzip and roll up the side if you want him to be able to go in and out when you're home, it comes with a carrying case, and it has an attached pocket to store some of his stuff I also have little dog gates for him when he's in the kitchen, but at night he sleeps in his play pen (he likes it better than his crate). I have this one too. I got the large size because i have a giant yorkie. I went to hobby lobby & bought like mesh material & stretched it across the top & fastened with wire ties. My dog loves being able to use the little door & he goes in & out all the time.
