Your right, it smells from the bottle but give it a try because on the coat it is such a soft smell it's almost undetected. The closest I could come to the sent was "Arimis" the men's colonge. I love it on Buddy. | |

| ![]() Yes, shake it really good. I swear, it smells very refreshing and clean once they are blown dry! I didn't have to use any conditioner on him and he felt so clean and soft and not a single mat. I'm sold on this stuff............good thing too, I bought a gallon!!! ROFL

| ![]() So I just used the MinkSheen for the first time this morning. The smell from the bottle wasn't that bad, but I sniffied it from pretty far away after reading all the comments about the smell. However, once I started lathering Ferdinand up, oh my gosh the smell was pretty strong. However, it rinsed out amazingly quick, and when I dried him, he dried at least twice as fast. I usually have to use conditioner - not with this stuff! It's great, I'm hooked! And his coat is so shiny! The thing I like most is it cuts his bath/drying time down by 50%. It used to take about a half hour to do both, but it took me 10-15 minutes this morning. The actual time in the bath was only 2 minutes, max. It was great! Especially because he hates baths so much. OH, and when I combed him out after his bath.... no tangles! I was amazed. Thank you BlondieGirl87 for sharing this product with us all! I thought what I was using before was great until I tried this! ![]()

| ![]() Minksheen did NOT work for me it made my girls flaky and fluffy ![]() ![]() Does anyone know of a good shampoo for a cotton or modified coat, that will not leave them fluffy and flaky??? Oh, yea I hated the smell of minksheen it smelled like flea shampoo and I got a little on my pants and that smell stayed with me ALL day until I changed pants..

I think Tatum is "modified silk" so I'm waiting to see if anyone answers that question of yours.

| ![]() Here are a few.... The way I hear it is that if after being out in the sun, a true silk coat will be cool to the touch but a modified silk will be hot. I know Tatum is not "cottony" but I'm waiting for some sun to test that other theory. She has a little bit of curl in her hair which if not blowdried completely will not lay right with the rest of her hair. Maybe the curl is another sign of "modified silk"???

| ![]() I couldn stand the smell either, i had that smell for the rest of the night in my nose, but the next day and day after it was faint, just a nice clean smell, i liked it ! I had orderd the whole line of Coathandler, and dying to use it, but i am going to give them another bath In the MinkSheen. And mabe try the other next week. Just love the fact that i dont have to use conditioner, bathtime and drying time cut in half and it rinsed out soo quickly !

| ![]() Thank you so much Joy for recommending this product. I finally got it in the mail (so you don't have to send the sample). Geeze did they take forever to ship. Anywho, I bathed her in it today. I shook the bottle like crazy (for a good five minutes) and let it sit on her for three minutes (as per directions). Drying time was so fast and her coat looks so amazing. It's so soft, silky and shiny I can't stop touching it. I was going to give body a trim up but decided not to after seeing how great she looked. She went outside and I swear it was like a shampoo commercial. Her hair moved with her in waves (so pretty to see). I love this stuff (don't so much love the smell but the end results makes it worth it)! TatumsMom, I"m so sorry CF didn't work out for you. I'm glad to know I wasn't crazy and Queequeg wasn't the only one who had flakes as a result of it. |

| ![]() I was going to PM you today and tell you that I bathed her again last night with the CF that you sent me but I decided to wait and look at her tonight to see if there were any flakes. I'm still not sure if the flakes are from the CF or if the dry skin that was there is coming off because of the CF. I DO know though that I'm not really liking how her hair lays with the CF OR the MinkSheen.

Same hair type, Modified Silk. Tried Minksheen alone on him, didn't work. Then tried with Craberry Fields Conditioner with Monksheen the next bath & worked Great!
