Definitely not if you shake the dickens out of the bottle so that it really mixes well. I bought the gallon and thought it had a horrible smell to it but once I used it and blow dried him, he was not only gorgeous but a nice clean smell to him.But the odor is totally different on them than the smell from the bottle!!!! Now my maltese had a whole different smell on her and her hair had a whole different reaction. I would not use it on her again! But absolutely on my Yorkie.
