| The muzzle in public rule it's just a suggestion for Italians!!!! I'd rarely see dogs on a muzzle there, unless the owners thought their dogs were somewhat "dangerous". |

| just to tell you if you are in going over ANY water what so ever you have to check you furbaby in with you luggage now.. I just got back from visiting my mom in tx and each time we have to put my babys in cargo so it has to be a HARD plastic kennel with no opening on top. We felw Delta Airlines as well. and this is what they told me WHEN I got there. So I had to run out to get a hard plastic one other whise it was 200.00 for one of theres.I just got back 2 months ago, from Tx. Also you need your furbaby chipped and needs papers from your vet saying there healthy. scent I am in Germany I need German papers saying it was ok and there healthy... Also your babys has to have ALL there shots 30day before going over seas... and the country MIGHT want to hold them up to 90day to make sure there not sick.If all of this is not done and you taking them, they can take you baby and kill him/her. So PLEASE make sure you have all this done before hand! TALK TO YOUR VET about it.. They will tell you the same! Have fun on your trip!! | Olivia Karhis, I called Delta multiple times to make sure and that's what they told me. You have to check with the airline first before you even make your reservation and see if there's space available for your pet on the flight because usually only 1 or 2 pets for flights are allowed(Delta is 1). | When I called and make my reservation they told me the SAME thing they told you. Then when I got there, they told me there are no pets in cabin, all go in the cargo bc there going over water. They said the same apply going to Hawaii and Alaska. (thats when I was coming over to germany back in Nov) Then, when I was going back home to visit my mom, I had to put them in cargo again and then coming back from Tx, they have to go in cargo. I am just telling you what the told when I got there. I even gave the guys name who told me I could bring them with me and asked to talk to the manager and he told he that the rules have changes and he guessed that, that guy was was no up to date on them. I'm Just telling you so you dont have to go through what I did and have to go out and get a plastic kennel and then bring it back and wait in line again, to get everything straighten out. |

something else you may want to find out is, if you can be bumped by a service dog. Service dogs have first priority, but I am not sure if they count them or not.

Advice to make the flight more pleasant... Definately get you yorkie used to the carrier way in advance. Take your yorkie out for fun trips in it. And let it sleep in it. I put a comfy blanket in her carrier. And a potty pad!!! Don't give your yorkie too much water and food before you leave. But make sure you have food and water with you for on the flight. Oh and take a tube of Nutrical with you in case your yorkie doesn't want to eat. I ask the vet for sedatives and brought with me just in case, but never used them. I also put her favorite toy in the carrier. BTW, I flew NWA/KLM and they allow up to 2 dogs in the cabin for flights... First, please make sure you have all your facts straight about taking your dog with you. Make sure the airline you're flying allows dogs in the cabin, also for overseas flights. Make sure you contact the Italian embassy or consulate-general about the requirements for the country. Dealing with customs of another country can be a real pain and you sure don't want to overlook anything and get into problems!!! This is the website for the Italian Embassy in Washington DC. http://www.ambwashingtondc.esteri.it...ata_washington If you have any more q's, let me know!!!
