![]() Even if the bag has an "airline approved" tag attached, some are still to large. Just check the dimensions..

| ![]() When you're flying with your pup in their 'airline approved' bag.....where exactly is the pup while your flying? Under the seat?? Just curious because this summer, I will be going to Puerto Rico for 2 weeks to spend time with my family. ![]()

![]() the bag just has to be completely enclosed and fit under the seat in front of you and leak proof. dimensions may vary based on airline and size of the airplane. be sure to check with the airline. there's also a quota regarding number of pets allowed in the cabin so be sure to check that too. when traveling out of states or to hawaii, be sure to check the quarantine requirements on arrival an return.

![]() I travel with my babies ALL the time. Only one can go with me at a time though. Airline approved just means they need to be enclosed fully.... so all you with the Juicy bags..... it's not going to work. Plus size is different with every airline so you have to check with which ever one you are travelling with. You need to tell the airline you are bringing a pet so they can reserve it. The cost is between $75.00 to $150.00 one way depending on the airline. There is usually a limit to 3 pets per plane so you better check because a lot more people travel with a pet than you might think. Once you check in a the counter.... you will pay and hand them a health certificate from your vet dated not longer than 10 days before your travel date. Certain airlines do not require but for the most part they do. Again, depending on where you are headed, you need to check state to state or country procedure. Hawaii is a 6 month quarantine...... so you better make sure you check. The counter lady who hand you a bright tag which you will then put on the bag. When you walk through the baggage check/x-ray machine... you need to TAKE your baby out of the bag.....(try to wear clothes with no metal ...nothing to set off the detectors) place all your bags...including your baby's bag through the machine. You will walk through the detector HOLDING your baby in your arms. Get to the other side and put her back in. THe flight crew will know you are with a pet cause it pulls up on their computer.... but I usually travel alone and I get the window seat. Why? Because you are not allowed to take baby out at all during the WHOLE flight. They don't care if it is screaming bloody MURDER. I will put the bag under the seat in front of me.... GRAB 2 airline blankets and cover my lap and pretend to sleep...... then when the plane is lifted and everybody is busy.... I will sneak my baby on my lap covered by the blanket and usually.... it's my MaeMae... she'll just sleep the whole way there. Then I have the 2.5 lb of PURE terror! BeeBee is HYPER and will not sit still or stay in the bag for long. So with him, I will set him under the seat... plane takes off.... when I am able to... I will take the bag(him in it) and retreat to the bathroom. Remember to bring your weewee pads. I'll take a bathroom and put the pad on the floor and let him play there..... for as long as I don't hear that knock on the door. It depends on your baby and personality. I travel with MaeMae more....for obvious reasons. She's a angel doll and behaves soooooo proper. But travelling with you yorkie can be pure BLISS or total TORTURE.... I've gone through both. Good Luck! ![]()

![]() Regarding measurements, remember, the sherpa bags are soft. That means that you can manipulate them to fit under most seats even if the measurements are bigger than the space under the seat. You can squish them down a bit to fit. The measurements provided by the airline are for hard kennels. My Yorkie has flown cross country about 18-20 times in the past 5 years. We have never been asked by the airline for a health certificate, but they might ask, so it is best to be prepared. Make sure you make reservations WELL IN ADVANCE. Oh- you can save a little money if you fly on Delta--they are only $50 each way. Other airlines don't allow pets at all (Southwest is the one I can think of right now). Please get your pup used to the bag before you go on a trip. Maybe even put him in the bag and set it on the clothes dryer so he gets used to the vibration. LaLoca1---Love your avatar. "Napoleon Dynamite" was my favorite movie of 2005. I must have watched that dance sequence 100 times.
