Regarding measurements, remember, the sherpa bags are soft. That means that you can manipulate them to fit under most seats even if the measurements are bigger than the space under the seat. You can squish them down a bit to fit. The measurements provided by the airline are for hard kennels.
My Yorkie has flown cross country about 18-20 times in the past 5 years. We have never been asked by the airline for a health certificate, but they might ask, so it is best to be prepared. Make sure you make reservations WELL IN ADVANCE. Oh- you can save a little money if you fly on Delta--they are only $50 each way. Other airlines don't allow pets at all (Southwest is the one I can think of right now). Please get your pup used to the bag before you go on a trip. Maybe even put him in the bag and set it on the clothes dryer so he gets used to the vibration.
