| I use a car seat since both of mine get car sick. It works on shorter trips but long distance (6-8hrs) one of them gets sick.

| If you were planning on traveling 3k miles once a year for two months, but drove in a big city much more would you buy something that was approved for all travel, or, would you go with the one that your kiddo would be in almost all the time that is approved for all other transportation? I'm getting her a Pod- husband carries her around in a bag when out and about, while I have her being trained to walk with me- and this is both a carseat, travel bed, and a carrier. These are extremely pricey, or I'd say forget it and buy two. I'd love any opinions, and thanks for all of the answers up until now. Last edited by JennaPenny; 05-21-2017 at 05:04 AM. |

| Crash test info I recently got a new puppy and looked into different ways of securing her in the car. I found videos showing what happens to different car seats, crates and harnesses during a crash. Here is the link: https://www.thedodo.com/pet-safety-c...418731624.html After seeing this I hope I never have a crash with her in the car. I decided to use her crate. I put down the armrest in the back seat and buckle the crate in. This gets her higher so I can see her and she seems to like it. |

| I always put my Tessa in her carrier. Not the soft one but the hard one that you use for plane flights, and use the seat belt to hold it in place. She usually sleeps safe and sound. Don't want her flying through the windshield should there be an accident. While they look cute looking out the window, I don't think they'er very safe. . |

| In SC, it's an automatic fine if you are caught. I hook JT in a laundry basket. The basket is fastened to another upside down laundry basket with bungee cords and secured in with the seatbelt. I have a leash around the top part of the seat and into the top basket with about 8 inches of play. Once I fasten the leash to his harness, he is secured in the basket at window level so he can look out. The crate pads fit perfectly so he usually lays down on it after a few miles. It has taken some training to get him to understand not to try to crawl over the side of the basket. |

| Did you get a Sleepypod? After seeing the crash testing on Petsafety.org we were convinced. Ours are the mobile bed mini and our Yorkies love them. We travel 90-120 miles with them fairly often and now we feel they are safe compared to the Lookout car seat we have used in the past. We were terrified after seeing that crash test. |

I had looked into the sleepy pods while researching carriers. The round ones for the car and travelling are so cool! And the atom pod is cool too - the one that is smaller where you can carry over your shoulder. My DH actually surprised me with the atom one year because I didn't want to spend so much on one. It ended up being too big for my use. So I returned it. If you can afford it, I think the quality and the amount of testing that goes into it is great!! I myself couldn't really justify it. hehe.. I ended up getting a smaller carrier. It's by no means an expensive one, but it functions very well with vents at the top, side and back. Here's both of them last year sitting quietly in their bags. https://www.instagram.com/p/BM-PIAlh...ttie.and.casie Curious to know what carrier you ended up getting though...

| Car seat I use a Snoozer car seat and my boy loves it and usually lies down and sleeps in it, even though he could look out. But recently he has decided sometimes he likes to hang out at my feet on the floor under the dashboard!!! It leaves little room for my feet and purse and it does not look comfortable to me!!! He does not get car sick so I guess he has his reasons for sleeping in my foot space! All I can think is that he feels safer next to my feet??? Dogs!!!! But really the seats are good when they use them. |

| I use a Snoozer Lookout. I like it and my furkid knows his spot. Love it for safety, but also gives him a good view. I cant decide whether to get another single one or one large one to hold both pups (purchasing another soon).

| Now that I have reviewed some videos etc. I am thinking about getting the sleepy pod. It seems safer, but they wont be able to lookout anymore.

| Bon Bon and I just finished a 3,000 mile road trip in my big, diesel truck. There is no back seat. I turned off the passenger airbag and he hung out in his Sleepypod, with it buckled into the passenger seat. He would be inside, in his harness, with the harness clipped inside the Sleepypod. We took frequent rest stops for him to get out and trot around, be adored by strangers, sniff at weeds, and not pee or poop on the awful pointy rocks they put in the pet rest areas. Honestly, what were they thinking? He had frequent and regular access to his food bowl and I brought bottled water for him to drink. He had no car sickness. I could even pop my hand inside the sleepy pod and pet him during traffic jams. Petting him really helped me stay calm and happy in bad traffic, too. |
