| We also have a Snoozer booster. He loves it! The cord is too short for him to jump out the window, and there is a child safety on the window that it won't roll down all the way. It's the perfect height that he can see outside. He's been on many trips with it and crashes out.

| Lol yea he is a strong little guy, when we were in the front yard of our rental house one day I had a long tie out looped around one of the fake pillars on the porch needles to say it is no longer attached at the bottom after he saw a squirrel to chase lol |

| My little girl wants to go with me everywhere but once in the car, she really doesn't like it. I have her in a body harness attached to the car seat belt and in the snoozer seat which is also attached with the seat belt. She refuses to sit or lay down and really is not a good car rider. On long trips I medicate. The first time I medicated I asked the vet and he told me to give her 1/4 benadryl (something like 1 gram to 1#). She cried for the whole trip. I had her in her crate in the back of the car with a blanket over the crate. When I reached my destination, the first thing I did was call the vet and this one told me to give 1/2 benadryl. That works much better. She sleeps through a 3.5 hour trip but is fine once we reach our destination. |

| Car rides Hi. Sorry your baby does not like the car, even in the Snoozer seat. I started my boy in the seat in the house and he loved that, so he was ok in the car in the same seat. At first he was anxious because of the traffic noise etc, but now he is fine. It is good that your little one can travel with medication. If she cries, it does sound as of she is anxious, and she may get used to travel in time. Good luck. |

| I have a basket-type carrier that straps to the passenger or back seat. It is elevated so he can see out the windows and that has really decreased car-sickness. It is lightweight with mesh on 2 sides & the perfect size for a 7-8lb dog. He loves to stand with his front paws on the edge of the basket but the he also loves to curl up in the basket & sleep on longer trips. I do not harness him in. Also, it is so lightweight that it is easily folded flat and tucked under a seat or in the trunk when not needed. |

| I have to share this.......my brother had a beagle he dearly loved...we had actually gotten that pup for my father who used to hunt with beagles and adored them. Dad was diagnosed with cancer and at this point in time, he only had a year or so left with us...so we decided we would get him a beagle. When he died, my brother took over Sparky, and actually Sparky was more attached to my brother because dad went down quickly and really was not able to do much with him. So now my brother had Sparky and they were inseparable...he took him everywhere with him.....he used to say, "A man, his truck, and his dog, out for a ride in the country".... He always had Sparky in the front seat, with his leash attached to his halter, and the leash tied to the seat belt, which he fastened. One day, as "the man, his truck and his dog" were out driving on a spring afternoon (in Houston, population 4 million, 3.5 million of them on the same road that day, as my brother!) a squirrel darted across the road in front of the truck. That was all Sparky needed...he started gleefully bugeling (sp?), and OUT THE WINDOW HE FLEW!!! My brother almost died!! All he saw was Sparkeys butt as he bailed out the passenger window...he says to this day, he sees that butt and that erect white tipped tail, and the pads of his hind feet going out that window, burned into his memory......he just knew his beloved Sparky was dragging to his death as he pulled off the road to reluctantly, with great dispair, go see what was left of Sparky on the passenger side of the truck. To his delight, his beloved friend was hanging by his leash, attached to his halter, which was attached to the seatbelt, and he was hanging like a dog riding in a side car, "sitting" upright, right alongside the door of the truck, 4 feet off the ground, feet tucked neatly up, front paws folded neatly on his chest, looking around like that was exactly where he was supposed to be "sitting"! My brother was so happy to see he had not killed Sparky....but he never took him in the truck again, with that window down....he used to say, Every body else can have a dog that rides up front, head hanging out the window, ears blowing in the wind.....a man, his truck, and his dog"......but NOT ME!!! MY DOG is the only one in Texas that dives out the window, so he can ride outside, in the open spaces! |

Yorkie Talker | Saftey Harness [QUOTE=momma mia;4025079]Can anyone recommend a product for car travel? My baby wants to ride in my lap, which is illegal . Should I get the harness that straps to the safety belt, or get a barrier to keep her in the back of the SUV, or those booster seats I've seen so she can look out the window? Opinions about any of those? Friendly policeman gave me a warning today about not having Mia in my lap. It makes sense...what if the airbag went off...that would be dangerous for us both I bought a harness for my little guy size xxs and he is 2.5 pounds he kept crying so I pulled over somehow he got his front paw out of it and was tangled. I returned it. I found at Ocean State Job Lot a carrier for 12.99 and it has a velcro strap in front where you put through the seat belt through. works well |
