| I can't wait until it's warm and Reesie gets the hang of walking on a leash so I can get the COUPLER and walk mine together! Is the coupler hard to manage???? ![]() Viv

| Very pretty! Quote:
They do well with separate leashes, except when they want to go separate directions.

| On a serious note, couplers aren't for all dogs. I have read of at least one instance here on YT where a dog was injured because the two dogs didn't work well with a coupler. On the other hand, some people have success walking more than 2 dogs connected.

| Gosh I didn't realize there was a danger related to walking with a coupler. So far I haven't had a problem, what are some things I should be aware of?We live on a 60 acre farm out in the country, so we aren't around traffic or anything, but I would like to know what the dangers are. I would absolutely die if I caused my babies any harm.

It's all a matter of knowing your dogs' walking habits. If they aren't the kind to get overly excited and pull at anything, no worries.

| I agree with Kristin, couplers are not for all dogs. Both dogs need to have fairly similar walking habits. I could not use a couple with Uni and Katie, Uni is too hyper and running back and forth, Katie is a more mellow trot walker. I did fine with two retractables with them. Katie is more predictable, Uni is not, but if you have two unpredictable ones, then I guess walking them with another human is the solution LOL!

| Brit, about the 5 or 6... I would say stick with the 6. Uni has a 3 and wears it on the smallest hole, but when she has a jacket and/or shirt on, it can go up to the 2nd to the biggest hole. I know Jackson wears a lot of coats in the winter (we have the same skull one you have, and it's a little bulky) so if he's wearing a 5 on the middle hole, once winter comes back around the biggest won't really fit unless you squeeze it on, and I don't want to make it too tight and uncomfortable.

| Thanks for the heads up on coupler walking!!! Reesie's Puppy Preschool teacher (heehee ) told me to master walking with Reesie 1st and then walk them together on separate leashes and see how they do. If they do well and have similar walking patterns, then I could coupler them. I am derermined to make it work as I really do not want to deal with 2 leashes and the potentials of getting tangled. BUT I also will only coupler walk them if it works out...or else...we will just have to deal with tangling for a bit until they get used to it LOL The BB coupler looks SO NICE!!! I think that's why I want it ultimately...LOL!!! To have the complete set of harnesses, leashes, and the coupler!!! I have issues!!!! HAHAHAHHAHAHA!!!!![]() Viv

| Vivian, you crack me up, but I understand, those couplers are very pretty! I agree with your Puppy Preschool teacher's advice. Using shorter leashes, I believe, helps prevent tangling and gives you more control. When I see the boys start to move in opposite directions or cross lines (leashes) while sniffing, I say "Let's go!" and direct them back to their walk.

Hahaha. As for me, I'm not big on couplers. I've used 'em a few times as I sometimes walk my dads dogs plus Jackson together, equaling 3 dogs... but I just prefer 3 separate leashes. I always feel bad for Buddy, he gets pulled in every which direction and he prefers to go his own way. I'm always walking multiple dogs and I don't find 2 leashes difficult at all (though 3 is def. harder). Granted, usually I'm walking a bigger dog and Jackson together so I probably couldn't use a coupler even if I wanted to.

| Ack, I can't decide.... I feel that the 5 fits him much better than the 6. It looks less bulky and just seems like a better fit, however it definitely won't fit over heavy clothes, maybe just a t-shirt. He can wear it on the 2nd and 3rd hole (on the loosest side) but any further is too tight.... but at least that little fabric covering the d-ring doesn't get all bunched up. I really wish they made a 5.5... both are just kind of awkward in how they fit. The 5 leg holes are a lot smaller than the 6 leg holes... I dunno what to do!!! LOL!

| I'm dealing with the same prob Brit w/ Snick and his size 2. I think I'm going to keep it and put clothing on top of it if need be. The 3 is too bulky on Snick but will be perfect on Reesie. Snick is so small boned anyway and the 3's leg holes are too big. Reesie is a BRUT fatty rolly polly so the 3 will work for him. Think about putting Jackson's clothing on top if the size 5??? Viv
