| Sterling silver will tarnish My parents had a lovely sterling silver teaset when I was growing up, and one of my jobs (and my sisters) was to clean the darn thing regularly. The plating on the jewelry will help the tarnishing until the plating wears down. I am still wavering on whether to get the pendant.........

Donating YT 500 Club Member | It is such a pretty piece I went ahead and ordered one. I'm not usually a fan of gold plate, but think with gentle care and limited usage it should hold up a few years anyway. By then just maybe I can afford gold and diamonds....WOW!

| If it's "real" sterling silver, yes, it will tarnish. I have to clean all my sterling silver jewerly from time to time. I'd ask a jeweler how to clean anything gold plated. I do know that anything gold plated eventually rubs off and doesn't look very good when it does. I had a picture of my three Yorkies made into a crystal pendant, which I love more than any other type of Yorkie pendant, and now I can take them with me everywhere.

Donating YT 500 Club Member | It is a little pricey but a lot less so that the diamond/gold one I would like. Have you worn yours many times Patti? If so, is it wearing okay, none of the gold plate rubbing off?

| The oil & salt from your skin will take off any plated jewelry, but if you don't have it touching your skin, just wear it over your sweaters, blouse and such, then it should be ok for awhile. Just put it in a little soft bag by itself too when not wearing it.

| I recently bought Carbona silver wipes, and I used it to polish our menorah. My sister bought me the silver Yorkie salt and pepper shakers from Neiman Marcus that are enameled, and I was a bit afraid that using any silver polish might hurt the enameled part. They worked great for the menorah and the little yorkies, and they were so easy to use. They take away any hesitancy I have for having something sterling to polish. I think they would be great to keep this necklace polished, especially knowing that they didn't harm the salt and pepper shakers.
