| Last time I took Betty Boop to the vet for grooming, they had cut one of her nails WAY too short and it bled for a long time. I am now trimming her nails myself. It's really easy, but I'm so afraid I'm going to clip into the quick. I hope I'm cutting them short enough each time. I saw nail clippers at Petco that have something built into them that tells you that you are about to cut into the quick BEFORE you cut! Anyone know of these? If so, what is your take on them?

| I have one, and it sits in the closet. Sandwiched, I believe, somewhere between the "blitz-chopper" and the "salad-spinner", just waiting for a chance to escape! The sound of the motor is fairly loud, and it freaked out the pups the minute I turned it on. So, needless to say, it has now been exiled to the " Island of Misfit Appliances". |

| I bought one for my BF's dogs, but they are scared of the noise it makes, so it never got used.

I was at petco today and saw the one that is supposed to identify the quick -but it was for larger dogs. 40 lbs and up. I didn't see one for smaller dogs? It was expensive - about $60 - but worth it if it really works? I clipped Baileys nails today - the first time since she was a puppy!! To clarify, I clipped 4 nails and decided it was a good start.

| I got one and tried it a couple of times on my dogs. They freaked out so bad, I just went back to the regular way of clipping them. I now and then use the pedi paws for sanding jobs...LOL...it may as well be used for something!

| i wont use the ped-i-paws because it takes to long i use a dremel for pets i got it at petsmart , and the dogs don't like it but it works fast and they sit still. i dont clip because i have one who had to have her quick cut 1/4 of an inch when i got her because her old owners never cut her nails so she is terrified of clippers three who has black nails and that scares me and one who will bite at the clippers the big dog thinks its a game to pull her paws away so the groomer dose her.

| Bought one, tried it, didn't like it. It is now sitting waiting to go back. It vibrates the nail too. Bella would not sit still. My groomer uses a dremel type thing and says she sits for that. |

Donating YT 1000 Club Member | before I bought mine I did some research, and many recommended the Dremel, over the Pedipaw,... but I didn't listen.

Yorkie Yakker | Ok, so I tried it on 2 nails. Tobias squirms a lil, so yes i could see it taking forever and it makes a burning smell . . .scarry. Good thing i bought it at Target I'll have to return it. I don't know about a dremel though b/c those are industrial tools used for construction style repairs and what not. I think I'm gonna have to leave it to the professionals. Thank you everyone for you feedback!

| I got one thinking it would be so much easier than clipping, but it wasn't. I tried it on myself first, and I didn't like the way it vibrated the nail. Boo Boo was terrified of the noise! Not only was is scary for boo, but you have to hold it on the nail for quite a long time for it to file the nail down. Clipping is so much quicker, and I just take the little tip off the nail when I do it. I may not get them super short, so I have to do it more often, but it gets done and my dog isn't scared of the little tiny nail clippers. |

Yorkie Yakker | I decided to give it a 2nd chance before I returned it today and it was a 2 man job. One to hold my dog, while I filed his nails. So not worth it and it was almost impossible to get those extra thumblike nails on his front paws. However, I also bought this hair trimming device for people that is safe to touch while on, has an adjustable head that I use to trim the hair around his eyes n muzzle, but it's just ok. But I think for $9.99 it's worth it, especially for getting that access hair inbetween their paws It's called Finishing Touch and if you get it from Target you can return w/in 90 days even after you've tried it and opened the plastic packaging
