| Has Royal Canin gone insane? I have always bought the yorkie version of Royal Canin food. Today I went to purchase the usual 15 cup/3lb bag and it was $17!! Normally I pay a total of $13. Also the bag is now gold and only contains 12 cups of food! Am I missing something here or has Royal Canin lost their minds??? I went to 2 different stores and the price had increased at both of them. |

| They just reformulated their food, so that's probably why. More expensive but not more value. |

| Yes, I noticed that too - a 4.4 lb bag now costs us $19.99! Fortunately, our local pet shop (where we buy all Bella's food), has a special Royal Canin program which we enrolled in. The store keeps track of our purchases and after 9 bags of food the 10th is free. It cuts the overall price somewhat however it does take forever for wee Bella to go through 9 bags of food!!! LOL It might be worth asking around though... perhaps you have a similar RC program available to you. If you're going to be buying Royal Canin long-term anyway, you may as well take advantage of any possible price breaks.

| My 12 week old puppy is on royal canin puppy food...why do you all love it so much. I was thinking of eventually switching to orijen since I have heard good things about it, but now am thinking maybe just keeping her on royal canin...

| quality? what does everyone think about the fact that royal canin uses corn, beat pulp, and very low meat content? dogfoodanalysis gave it a very low 2 star rating. So i'm wondering why so many people use it? Is it the brand that your breeder used and you just kept it going? the packaging? My dog was on this from the breeder, but i quickly switched him to Wellness. What have been your experiences? |

| You know when I got Cookie, I researched dog food on the internet and found the site that has a comparison chart of lots on name brand dog foods. After careful consideration, I put Cookie and now Izzy on Evo Small Meat Bites. There is a lot of protein and they do great! I have had no problems! Hope that this helps!

Some people don't think beet pulp is bad, some dogs have no problem with corn, and it contains 28% protein, which isn't low. I don't actually care for dogfoodanalysis, it's only has one person review the food, and the person has had no training in nutrition, so I take what they say with a grain of salt. One of the main reasons I like it is that it's a large company, and you will hear about recalls very fast, if any dogs get sick, you will hear about it, because even if something only effects one percent of the dogs, that's still a lot of dogs. I also like a dog food that has breed specific ingredients, I do believe that different breeds benefit from different diets. Joey really loves it, and I had a hard time getting him to eat other foods, I also had some allergy problems with other foods. He's doing great, he never vomits or has diarrhea, no itching, or gas, and his hair is shinny, his teeth are good. The food stays fresh in the bag too, if you expel air and put a big clip on it, it's a great heavy duty package. I know I'm paying more for the package, but keeping it fresh is important to me. I think I'm getting what I pay for.

| The breeder which I got Samy from was also feeding them Royal Canin but I would not count on it as he did not seem very knowledgeable on food and most breeders are brainwashed in the origin where I got my puppy.. Samy had allergic reactions to RC - itching, scratching, licking... I am currently mixing his food with Eukanuba which has chicken in it and much better ingredients than Royal Canin. I think it also does not have BHA, which RC definitely has.. also no colorants, etc...

| All 4 of my dogs are on Royal Canin. They love this food. I have had them on Wellness, Evo, Innova, Taste of the wild and one other. For some reason they would get bored of it. So I guess for us it works It's nice when you go to the vet and your babies dont need a dental yet. I really believe RC has something to do with it along with brushing. Forgot to say I think each dog is so different and some can handle and some can't

| my yorkie (3 yr old rescue i got about a month ago) has serious problems that we and the vet can find no reason for. He basically vomits white foamy nasty when he eats dry food unless i feed him a little at a time, which takes like 15 min for 1/8 cup of food~! We've done xrays, and a barium study, and stool checks/deworming...and we can find no reason other than he GULPS his food really fast. But even slowing him down w brake fast bowl didnt stop puking. He has gum disease and had teeth pulled but he still throws up if i feed dry, so i dunno. Hes eating soft food now, and burps EVERY time he eats..and sometimes spits up a tiny bit like a baby HOURS AND HOURS later. So i think it may be gas problems...but i have no idea. He is on Eukanuba small breed adult, and im considering Royal Canin YT 28 to see if it will help. Will it?? |
