| Minksheen I am so disappointed. Max got some Minksheen (a sample) from Chattiesmom and Emmitt during the last GE. I was SO excited to try it out b/c I have heard WONDERFUL things about it. I gave Max a bath last weekend with it and it gave him dandruff and he is now itchy! The dandruff is pretty bad, too. POOR GUY. He has never had dandruff before. I followed the directions carefully (I did not dilute it though). I feel so bad for him. Has this happened to anyone else? I am not even going to try it on Molly b/c she already has dry skin. I HATE to post a negative review b/c I know so many Mommies LOVE it... but I thought I should let everyone know that it CAN cause dandruff and dry skin.

| The first time I used it I didn't dilute it either and the smell was really strong and overwhelming. I called the Company and they said to dilute it. After I diuluted it I like it much better. My babies didn't get dandruf or itch even when I used it full strength. I really like it now and it makes my girl's cottony coat look healthy and shiny. You might want to experiment a little until you find the right one or try diluting the MinkSheen the next time.

| Minksheen shampoo If you got a free trial, it didn't need to be diluted. My daughter is a groomer and she didn't like it all, the smell or what it did to her hair, we use Coathandler and we love it, My Yorkie had dandruff before we started using it and within a couple of baths it was all gone and she has never had itagain. Love it. |

| My dog's old owner said that Scruffs used to have terrible dry skin in the heat and they had to give him oatmeal baths every week. I switched him to higher quality food (Innova) and used Buddy Wash Shampoo/Conditioner and Salmon Oil (good for their hair), and he doesn't have any dry skin at all and his coat is way silkier.

| I have been using BioGroom and I like it as well... but I got the MinkSheen from Cindy and really wanted to try it. I think I may try it one more time (but will dilute it). If it still causes dandruff, I think I will just have to add it to the "pile". But I am glad that it works for many!

| I`m with u i hate to knock a product. Just thought maybe it just didn`t work for molly. It seem to be ok coulpe times i use it but now her skin is dry to an she doesn`t shine as much now. An she looks like she needs to be brushed all of the time. Got the madden brush to brush her with. I have a whole gallon of this shampoo . Wish i had gotten a sample first. Just ordered her some royal coat thought i would try that. See what happens. Between food an shampoos i have spent a lot on her. I have piles of stuff to. What works on one i have found might not work on the other. |

| I don't know if there is really anything to this but here is what the web site says about Minksheen. "MinkSheen Pet Shampoo's rich lather will gently clean your pet without leaving it's skin dry or irritated. Mink Oil leaves a soft, shiny, "show" quality coat, while Vitamin E soothes and prevents "hot spots". The Cedar and Citronella oils will naturally repel fleas and ticks while leaving your pet smelling great for days! The added benefit of an anti-bacterial will protect both you and your pet from the spread of harmful germs and bacteria. Used nation-wide by professional groomers that want a safe, gentle, natural shampoo.........." Like I said, I don't know if it is true that it "will naturally repel fleas and ticks" but I like the idea so I am going to keep using it for now since Daisy seems to be a tick magnet.

| I for one am not crazy about the scent. However, they claim that as long as you can smell the scent of MS that it is repelling insects. I've been using it for three weeks and am getting used to the smell, but still prefer her old "vanilla butter" dessert sweetness. It has cut down on her bath time. There is no need for conditioner and waiting for it to "do it's thing". With MS it seems like their fur needs conditioner, but after drying and brushing it is as soft and smooth as ever. That alone has kept me with MS. As far as itching, no improvement...

| I am not crazy about the smell either. Much prefer Espree or Biogroom for the smell. But....I ordered a gallon of the Minksheen to share with my mom. Her papillons have a sensitivity to every flea product she has tried. I don't like giving mine the Frontline Plus right now, as I have a new puppy that is a licker. So, if the Minksheen really works well to keep the fleas and ticks away, it will be worth it to put up with a little medicinal smell. Had never heard the dandruff complaint about Minksheen. I wonder if it is just the difference in shampoo and maybe it is cutting out some old shampoo buildup? You know how we are supposed to use a different shampoo every once in a while to get rid of the buildup on the hair shaft? Maybe that is what the Minksheen did? I would use it a few more times and see if you find the "dandruff" goes away.

YT 1000 Club Member | Does it work better for a cottony coat vs. silky coat? Roxie is silky and I'm on a search for a better shampoo for her. My SIL is a groomer down in FL. and is sending me shampoo to try. Roxie has been greasy and dull looking lately even 2 days after her baths. Could be partly my water. We're on a well and if the softener isn't working in top notch performance it effects everything!
