| My guy has a lot of tearing as well. The first thing is to make sure the ducts are working correctly.... if there is no infection or problem then the best thing is to keep the hair as short as possible around that area. Moisture over time can cause an infection (mold like). I do have to bath my guy weekly or wipe every few days to keep that area from building up but when the hair is short is is easier to maintain.

| Smokey's eyes "gunk" up really really bad...we use tearless shampoo and an old toothbrush...it works great...and once a month my vet said to take peroxide on a q-tip and wipe it down the tear stains...it lightens the hair back up and doesnt get into their eyes....

| Otis get terrible hardened clumps. He hates to have me mess with his eyes. I have had to cut them out before, they are that hard. I'm trying to stay up on it with warm wash cloth. I've also tried vasoline before to soften and pull them out. He had bad allergies and is on medicine. I've also changed him over 3 weeks ago to wellness whitefish and sweet potatoe. Hopefully this helps. I do keep his hair short. Good Luck, I think it's just something we'll have to really keep up on.

| yes, it definately helps to loosen it. His get very hard and clumpy. I let put it on before bed and try to pick at it in the morning. It makes his hair pretty messy, but it helps!

| no will not use angel eyes as it has antibiotic in it and countries such as uk and canada will not sell it because of that. It is the same in dogs as humans too many antibiotics then when you may really need them your body can be immune to it so not good to use antibiotics on a daily basis I do not beleive |

| I think it's normal and can have an odor if not cleaned every day. My pooch has runny eyes...You might make sure that the hairs are trimmed close to their eyes....that can cause more drainage... I just use what alot of people use...warm wash cloth.. Daizy's face can tend to smell also because her mustache tends to get into her food. So that makes me have to wash her face even more often.
