My guy has a lot of tearing as well. The first thing is to make sure the ducts are working correctly.... if there is no infection or problem then the best thing is to keep the hair as short as possible around that area. Moisture over time can cause an infection (mold like). I do have to bath my guy weekly or wipe every few days to keep that area from building up but when the hair is short is is easier to maintain.
